>Coke is woke, NEEDS to go broke, sadly says a life-long fan of their cane-sugar-based formula.

Hasn't been for about 40 years now in America.

You can still buy real cane sugar coke, but at a premium from Mexico.

Believe it was the late 70s, early 80s when they switched over 100% to corn sugar, in slow increments so people wouldn't notice.

Wonder what the long-term effects of corn sugar in large amounts are?

In 1985, they tried formally to change the Coke formula with a new corn syrup formula, and people revolted against it.

But they had already subverted the old coke formula with corn sugar years before. People were already addicted to corn sugar. Some people even said it didn't taste the same.

Pretty slick, huh?

Perhaps the New Coke campaign was just another big tech marketing trick designed to fail so they could gauge brand loyalty and attract more new customers?

Whatever happened, you've had corn sugar Coke for the past 40 years whether you wanted to or not.
