Here is some history.
George Peabody, a Massachusetts trader, set up a banking house, George Peabody & Co. in London in 1837. He was the financial ambassador of London setting up tax exempt foundations for manipulation ie, Peabody Foundation.
His younger partner, Junius Morgan, Hartford, Connecticut, moved to London in 1854. They started our civil war and raised loans for the North, but played both sides and shipped supplies to the South.
Peabody retired in 1864 and Junius took over. He renamed the company JP Morgan & Company. The same year, Junius' son became a partner, and came back to NY.
Harold Stanley was a member of skull and bones (created in 1832)
JP died in 1913. JP Jr.
JP Jr took over and it became
Morgan, Stanley & Co.
