Caps show more about how banner was changed. Same time dough was altered, discussions are intertwined. Both changes were forced.
Re banner: the Idea seemed to be, First take out Q_anon, change to Q. Then MAGA lion? Poster did not say why. But soon the lion was also dropped as a banner standard. Ultimately, the General image no longer existed, just variants. Some preserved the dignity of the original, many did not.
Anons as a whole protested the change. I was one of them. Baker refused.
Although OSS was not directly involved, his fingerprints are all over the general thrust: doing anything to erase the past, to wipe out the hated legacy of perceived enemies. But the banner was not the product of bakers. It goes back to 8bit. So why take it out?
This is posted not to blame but to show the history. TBH, hold OSS responsible. Always the primary instigator of destructive efforts - masterful deceiver. May even have started the ball rolling in April 2020 by stealing bakes and then blaming it on gerbil - just to create chaos.
Sometimes it's good to look at the past before moving into the future.
