This announcement blows up what they were trying to do. This seems to me to be happening more lately.

Now, if Pelosi or the commission release anything related to the material that was that could only bee known from the Congressman's files, they'll incriminate themselves. I think it could be along the lines of exculpatory evidence the Congressman had, and Pelosi/comm needed that material to know how to try to front run a scheme meant discredit it.
