Prior to joining the OPS, Chief Sloly was a partner at Deloitte, a Deputy Chief with the Toronto Police Service and a professional soccer player.

Chief Sloly sits on numerous charity Boards including; United Way Easter Ontario and Crime Prevention Ottawa. He holds a BA in Sociology and and an Masters in Business Administration.  He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and served two tours of duty in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Kosovo.
