You would think that when 100,000+ people descend upon a city’s downtown core for a multi-week demonstration, those in the foodservice business would be jumping for joy. All those hungry and thirsty people will surely be seeking refreshments. It’s a bona fide bonanza for those in the foodservice biz.
However, we couldn’t help but notice that about 90% of the restaurants, pubs and other types of eateries in downtown Ottawa were closed during the Freedom Convoy gathering.
But why?
Apparently, the people running these restaurants actually believe the narrative being spun by those in government and mainstream media: that the people taking part in these demonstrations are “deplorables” who are prone to vandalism and violence.

Suspect In Winnipeg Terror Attack On Freedom Convoy Is Antifa Member, Accused Pedophile
David Zegarac, a 42-year-old Canadian deeply tied to left-wing politics and accused of pedophilia, was caught on camera wearing a COVID mask as he swerved his white Jeep Patriot into a crowd of Freedom Convoy demonstrators gathered outside of legislative buildings in Winnipeg, the capital of Canada’s Manitoba Province. Bauder’s group, Canada Unity, contends that vaccine mandates and passports are illegal under Canada’s constitution, the Nuremberg Code and a host of other international conventions.

Since they have arrived in Ottawa, the extreme elements of the protest have been visible: neo-Nazi and Confederate flags were seen flying, QAnon logos were emblazoned on trucks and signs and stickers were pasted to telephone poles around the occupied area bear Trudeau’s face, reading: “Wanted for crimes against humanity.”
