And IIRC, part of the Jesuit vows was that they would never be Pope, they were to step down from the Jesuit Order (don't remember the special word for it). I researched this a few years ago, why didn't Francis step down from the order, and all I could find was an article on EWTN providing quotes from 4 priests on why that was no longer necessary.I can't find that article on their site now.
