Rep, Jim Jordan (R-OH) blasted the Biden Administration for their plan to distribute “smoking kits and supplies” to vulnerable communities in the name of racial equity. According to the Washington Free Beacon:

The $30 million grant program…will provide funds to nonprofits and local governments to help make drug use safer for addicts. Included in the grant, which is overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services, are funds for ‘smoking kits/supplies’…these kits will provide pipes for users to smoke crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and “any illicit substance.

Jeremy Giambi, former MLB outfielder and brother of Jason, dead at 47

Jeremy Giambi, the younger brother of former Yankees star Jason Giambi who played parts of six seasons in MLB, died Wednesday at his parents’ home in Southern California, agent Joel Wolfe told reporters. He was 47.

The Giambi brothers were teammates on the Oakland Athletics for two seasons from 2000-01. Jeremy Giambi also played for the Royals, Phillies and Red Sox.

Heavy Cannabis Use by Female Adults Associated With Lower Incidence of Diabetes

A new study recently published in Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research found that women who heavily used cannabis had lower incidence of diabetes, a chronic condition that prevents the body from either making enough insulin (type 1) or being able to use insulin efficiently (type 2).

Approximately one in 10 Americans has diabetes, and the condition accounted for 87,647 deaths in the United States in 2019, making it the seventh leading cause of death for that year.
