Former state Rep. Ty Cullen to plead guilty in federal corruption case

Prosecutors said Cullen took $40,000 from an “industrial services contractor” to introduce then kill a cesspool removal bill that would benefit the cleaning company.

Cullen was charged with one count of honest services wire fraud, a felony publishable by up to 20 years behind bars.

A charging document against state Rep. Ty Cullen, 41, said bribes he received included casino chips and four cash payments totaling $23,000.

Cullen represented Waipahu and West Loch on Oahu.

Human trafficking ring smashed as suspect traced in Liverpool

A suspected 'high-ranking' member of a significant human trafficking network has been arrested in Liverpool.

A spokesman for the NCA said the arrest is the latest phase of an investigation into the smuggling of mainly Vietnamese migrants into the UK in the backs of lorries in August, September and October 2020.

The NCA has around 50 ongoing investigations into the "top tier of organised immigration crime or human trafficking"

The Jalisco New Generation Cartel, known by their Spanish-language acronym CJNG, is using landmines and explosives-laden drones to kill other gang members, cops and soldiers in a savage campaign of murder. The gang is also working with Middle East jihadi “technical advisors,” according to Mexican law enforcement and security sources.

The Mexican army defused 12 handmade landmines last week in Tepalcatepec, in Michoacan state, where the CJNG is dominant, according to Milenio, a national newspaper based in Monterrey. One powerful explosive damaged an armored vehicle and injured 10 soldiers, the paper said.
