The RealClearPolitics average showed the Republicans with a four-point lead. The average kept by RealClearPolitics shows the Republicans with 47.6 percent of the hypothetical vote and the Democrats with 43.6 percent of the hypothetical vote.

Poll: Plurality Say Worst of the Pandemic Is Behind Us
The Economist/YouGov survey asked respondents to gauge where they believe the United States is in terms of the pandemic, two years in. A plurality, 44 percent, expressed the belief that the “worst part of the pandemic is behind us,” followed by 22 percent who are unsure.
Seventeen percent believe the pandemic is “going to get worse,” while 16 percent believe the U.S. is “currently in the worst part of the pandemic.”
The survey, taken February 5-8, 2022, among 1,500 U.S. adults, has a margin of error of +/- 2.9 percent.

Students walk out at West Virginia school after Christian revival
HUNTINGTON, West Virginia — Between calculus and European history classes at a West Virginia public high school, 16-year-old Cameron Mays and his classmates were told by their teacher to go to an evangelical Christian revival assembly.
When students arrived at the event in the school's auditorium, they were instructed to close their eyes and raise their arms in prayer, Mays said. The teens were asked to give their lives over to Jesus to find purpose and salvation. Those who did not follow the Bible would go to hell when they died, they were told.
The Huntington High School junior sent a text to his father.
"Is this legal?" he asked.
The answer, according to the U.S. Constitution, is no.

Minneapolis, St. Paul mayors rescind vaccine-or-test regulations for some businesses
The mayors of Minneapolis and St. Paul on Thursday lifted their vaccine-or-test requirements for restaurants and bars, citing the drop in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
Since mid-January, residents in the twin cities have been required to show proof of vaccination or of a negative COVID-19 test from within the past three days.
