Metropolitan Police commissioner resigns from London's force

Cressida Dick announces resignation, saying Mayor of London "no longer has sufficient confidence" in her leadership

The head of London’s Metropolitan Police force, Commissioner Cressida Dick, has announced her resignation from the post after meeting with the city’s Mayor Sadiq Khan, who she said “no longer has sufficient confidence in my leadership.”

“He has left me no choice but to step aside as Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service,” Dick said in a statement released Thursday evening, adding that she is resigning “with huge sadness.”

The move comes after a series of scandals involving Met Police officers. A recent report by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) revealed multiple incidents of racism, sexism and bullying within the Met’s ranks. The report prompted Khan to subsequently warn Dick that she was “on notice” and the force needed to urgently show it had an effective plan for rooting out a culture of racism, homophobia and misogyny.

"At [Khan's] request, I have agreed to stay on for a short period to ensure the stability of the Met and its leadership while arrangements are made for a transition to a new Commissioner," Dick added in her statement.

Rear Admiral and Top US Commander in Kabul Blames White House and Jill Biden for Historic Afghanistan Withdrawal Disaster

The top military commander in Kabul, Afghanistan during the historic US withdrawal from the country blamed the Biden White House, Jill Biden and even The Vatican for the shocking disaster last year. Rear Adm. Peter Vasely, the top U.S. commander in Kabul during the evacuation, left the blame squarely at the feet of the radical Biden White House.

** 13 Americans were killed by an Islamic suicide bomber at the Kabul Airport during the final days of US occupation in the country.

** 14,000 Americans were left stranded and abandoned by the Biden Regime in Afghanistan.

Joe Biden left $80 billion in US military weapons for the Taliban terrorists on the way out of the country.

** Only a few of the 100,000 “refugees” who left the airport were vetted before they were shipped off to America.

** They even left the military dogs there to fend for themselves.

It was the greatest US military embarrassment and disaster in our history.

The Daily Mail reported:

Rear Adm. Peter Vasely, the top U.S. commander in Kabul during the evacuation, said that the withdrawal was made more chaotic by people like First Lady Jill Biden, Pope Francis, the White House and Congress calling in for special favors to help get out certain people.

Vasely said the Pentagon was being pulled in all different directions from Biden officials, lawmakers, members of the media and even the Vatican as it carried out the largest evacuation since Vietnam ahead of the Taliban takeover.

He called the requests a ‘distraction’ that created competition for ‘already stressed resources.’

Vasely’s declassified remarks, made public by a FOIA request from the Washington Post, came during testimony for a U.S. Army investigation into the Aug. 26 suicide bombing that killed 13 U.S. service members and an estimated 170 Afghan civilians.

The Pentagon’s standard priority had been to first evacuate American citizens, then lawful permanent residents, then Afghans who aided the U.S. throughout the war.

Demands poured in to the U.S. operations center in Kabul through emails, text messages and phone calls in such a high volume that Vasely, a Navy SEAL, felt the need to take certain forces away from the established rescue plan to form a ‘coordination cell’ to work on the special requests from Washington and beyond.

‘You had everyone from the White House down with a new flavor of the day for prioritization,’ Vasely told Army investigators.

Watchdog group files FOIA lawsuit regarding records of Energy secretary's consulting business

DOE Secretary Jennifer Granholm has been in ethics hot water since assuming her position with the Biden administration.

A watchdog group on Thursday filed a federal FOIA lawsuit against the Energy Department to obtain records related to the activities of agency Secretary Jennifer Granholm, the subject of numerous ethics complaints since assuming office last year.

The suit was filed by the political ethics watchdog group Protect the Public's Trust.

One complaint is related to Granholm and husband Daniel Mulhern being partners at their firm, Granholm Mulhern Associates, which provided consulting services to businesses in the green energy sector.

The watchdog group points out that with the Energy Department poised to receive a significant injection of taxpayer cash, due to the Biden administration's infrastructure bill, it is more important then ever that Granholm be clear of scandal and financial conflicts of interest.

Granholm's involvement with with green energy bus company Proterra, which the administration has repeatedly promoted, has also raised ethics concerns, as reported by the Washington Free Beacon.

After assuming office, Granholm continued to hold stock options in Proterra that she did not give up despite the administration's promotion of the company.

When she was finally forced to divest her holdings, she netted a reported $1.6 million.

Beyond Granholm's Proterra entanglement, since last spring, the secretary has been involved in a number of questionable activities from appearing at a campaign event for Democrat Terry McAuliffe's failed Virginia gubernatorial bid to improperly reporting up to a quarter-million dollars in stock sales for shares of companies including Gilead Sciences, Uber and real estate company Redfin.

Protect the Public's Trust is trying to get ahold of records of conversations pertaining to Granholm and her husband's role with their consulting firm.

Michael Chamberlain, the director of the watchdog group, says he remains baffled by the lack of transparency from the Energy Department, considering the ethics concerns related to Granholm.

"One would think they would want to be even more transparent about these issues," he said. But so far we’ve had to resort to litigation to force the transparency the American public deserves."
