Arthouse favourite Andre Wilms dies aged 74

A far-left activist in his youth, Wilms was a committed Maoist in the early 1970s.

"We were desperately searching for that utopia," he later recalled. "We hoped and believed in the Chinese revolution. And then all that collapsed. A few of my comrades killed themselves, others became mute" after the fall of the Soviet Union.

"I really believed in it. I thought even that theatre could change things," he added.

'Either go to London or jail', Fawad tells Shehbaz

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Friday said that Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif was left with only two options: "either to go to London or jail".

To a question, Fawad said that previous regimes of Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari damaged the national economy by getting huge loans, due to which now the government had to pay off these loans of $55 billion in the next two years. "Now, the government has to take loans to return the previous ones."
