Rule #1 (sadly), if someone resigns, or announces they are stepping down or not seeking re-election, as much as we dont want to admit it, they are dirty just like everyone else. Now many of the "swamp" didnt intend to be dirty, but were pulled in, blackmailed, etc, and became that way because of the horrible nature of DC. That being said, they all have to go, as they are all compromised. My best guess for Gowdy is that he was dirty, but not by choice, Trump team saw him as useful, or wanted to let him make up for his bad acts. More people than we know are atoning for them. (That was Bannon's role in the WH, but thats a different convo). Gowdy is serving as very useful now, and will help bring down the hammers, and will then leave D.C.

As far as Elon goes. It still needs to be determines what role he played/plays in the weapons up in space.
