James Packer is set to pocket $3.26 billion and walk away from Crown Resorts after the casino group accepted an offer to sell its Australian operations to a US private equity firm.

The deal worth a total of about $8.9 billion would see Mr Packer end his association with the company had spent the past two decades building into a gaming and entertainment powerhouse.

While the sale remains subject to shareholder approval, the deal will see US firm Blackstone take over Crown Resorts’ flagship Melbourne property, the new hotel and casino Barangaroo, and the company's resort in Perth.

Crown has entered into a binding agreement with Blackstone but the deal is also subject to approval by gaming regulators in each state in which Crown operates.

It follows Blackstone offering $13.10 per share cash for the company in January.

Mr Packer, who still owns 37 per cent of Crown Resorts, will secure a $3.26 billion windfall if the sale proceeds.

The company's gambling licence at Barangaroo is currently suspended after a public inquiry found it was unfit to run a casino.

The regulator's decision followed evidence heard at the inquiry in 2021 that Crown had been used by criminal syndicates and money laundering operations.

Man charged for shooting of 2 children in Maryland is released without bail

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A suspect in the shooting of two children in Annapolis Saturday night is out on the streets after he was arrested, police say:

Preliminary investigation reveals that police were called to the 100 block of Obery Court at 7:19pm for the report of a possible home invasion. Shortly after the initial call the police received multiple calls that two juveniles had been shot. The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is continuing.

The two juveniles, a 14 year-old male and a 10 year-old female, were located nearby the incident in the unit block of Monument Street. The 14 year-old is in stable condition and the 10 year-old is in serious but stable condition.

The suspect in the shooting is John Estep, 41, of Annapolis. He turned himself in to police without incident. Estep was arrested and charged with seven criminal charges related to the crime, including two counts of first degree assault. He was released on personal recognizance.

At Least 11 Victims Stabbed at Multiple Locations In Albuquerque, Police Say

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque police say a suspect is in custody after several people were stabbed at multiple locations in the Southeast part of the city Sunday.

The scene is near Central and Wyoming.

“Officers are investigating 7 possible scenes, stretching from Downtown to Central and Wyoming, with reports of 11 stabbing victims,” the department said in a statement. “All victims are in stable condition. The lone suspect is in custody.”

According to KRQE, the suspect was on a BMX bike and had a large knife. The attacks are believed to be random.

GOP Rep. John Curtis: Salazar Amnesty Bill Delivers ‘Reliable Foreign Workers’ to Business

Rep. John Curtis (R-UT) says a plan that gives amnesty to illegal aliens and expands pipelines for foreign visa workers will be a boost for business.

Last week, as Breitbart News reported, Rep. Maria Salazar (R-FL) and six House Republicans introduced “The Dignity Act” to provide green cards to the nation’s 11 to 22 million while expanding visa programs to more readily outsource American jobs.

Curtis is co-sponsoring the bill alongside Reps. Dan Newhouse (R-WA), Pete Sessions (R-TX), Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon (R-PR), Tom Reed (R-NY), and Peter Meijer (R-MI). The bill is backed by the United States Chamber of Commerce and the Niskanen Center.

“… the Dignity Act balances the need for a secure and working border with compassionate policies that keep families together, ensures employers have access to reliable foreign workers, and welcomes people into our society and communities,” Curtis said in a statement.

Curtis’s donors include mega multinational corporations like Comcast, Alphabet Inc., Berkshire Hathaway, and AT&T, among others, which have a vested financial interest in driving as many foreign nationals to the U.S. as possible.

The plan’s amnesty provisions allow hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to immediately secure green cards while millions of others are put on a 10-year track to obtain green cards while holding work permits.

Also included, are expansions of the H-2A and H-2B visa programs that deliver thousands of foreign workers to U.S. farms and seasonal employers every year. With the H-2B visa, the plan exempts returning foreign workers from the annual cap, while the H-2A visa provisions will make hiring foreign farmworkers easier.

Both visa programs are crucial for employers to keep U.S. wages low and stagnant in farm jobs, as well as seasonal nonagricultural jobs.

Last month, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) vowed not to consider any amnesty plans for illegal aliens should Republicans take back the House in this year’s midterm elections.

The amnesty violates that pledge — indicating that, assuming McCarthy is Speaker and sticks to his word, the proposal stands no chance in a GOP-run House led by McCarthy next Congress.

The plan comes even as scandal has rocked the H-2A visa program in recent months in the form of a 54-count federal indictment. According to prosecutors, a transnational criminal organization had been using the H-2A visa program to traffic foreign workers from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras into farm jobs in Georgia.

Prosecutors called the scheme “modern-day slavery.”

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden’s administration has executively expanded the H-2B visa program to allow 40,000 more foreign workers to take blue-collar American jobs — often in construction, landscaping, meatpacking, and fishing.

Top NSW Health official resigns

A top official at New South Wales Health who helped shape the state's response to the COVID-19 pandemic is leaving her post.

Elizabeth Koff, NSW Health Secretary, today tendered her resignation, the state government announced.

Ms Koff spent 30 years working for the state's health system and spent six years in the senior post of secretary.

She oversaw NSW Health responses to the pandemic, including testing centres, vaccination clinics, hospital operations and the development of structures for guidance and support from clinical expert advisory groups.

Ms Koff will leave her role on March 4, 2022.

According to this American patriot, who is a US Marine veteran who worked overseas at a US Embassy, the doors on the US Capitol are electronically controlled magnetic locked doors. And someone inside the security booth at the US Capitol opened the doors!

Here is what we were told.

Retired Marine: We’re on the top level now – about 15 feet from the doors just before they opened up. People are yelling and screaming. Everyone’s cheering, all kind of stuff. It’s chaotic. But we’re just kind of there. And then all of the sudden the doors open up from the inside. I have a picture taken about two seconds before the doors opened. And then I have a picture taken about six seconds later and the doors were open.

Jim Hoft: And they were not opened from the outside?

Retired Marine: They were opened from the inside. Now one of the stories I read recently was that some Marine, some Marine Major, went inside and managed to run around and open up the doors. And I think that was on your website, as well. But here’s what I can tell you about magnetic locks. If a door is locked by a mag lock it cannot be opened from the outside or the inside unless the person controlling that door opens that door by turning off the magnetic lock which those doors according to the photos I took are equipped with.

Jim Hoft: Holy cow! That’s really big news there!

Retired Marine: Now these magnetic locks, I worked in the American embassy overseas. They are very, very strong.

Jim Hoft: I’m sure and they, you would think at the US Capitol they would have top security there.

Retired Marine: Now to give you an idea how strong they are, you could tie a chain to the handlebars of the door and tie it onto a truck. And you can take off with the truck and it is probably going to rip the door handles off but it is not going to open that door. The only way those doors can be opened if they want to be opened is from inside a security booth that is also equipped with a magnetic lock.

Retired Marine: Not that I’ve heard of.

Retired Marine: If those magnetic locks had been engaged, in other words, if Capitol Police did not want people opening that door. Now I can understand they might say, “We had police outside so we didn’t want to engage them.” If they did not want those magnetic locks open, there is NOTHING, nothing, no person, no group of people, no hundreds of people who could have opened those doors. No one. Unless the Capitol Police wanted those doors open. As soon as those doors were open, I was lifted off my feet. There was a forward momentum.

Jan 6: Beating of Unconscious Trump Supporter Who Later Died Ruled 'Justifiably Reasonable' by DC Metro Police

The beating of an unconscious Trump supporter by a DC Metropolitan Police Department officer on January 6 was deemed to be “objectively reasonable” after an investigation by the department’s Internal Affairs Bureau. Rosanne Boyland, 34 of Kennesaw, Georgia, died on January 6 after tear gas was deployed against protesters, which led to a stampede. Boyland then lost consciousness in the melee and was beaten with a metal rod by Capitol Police officer Lila Morris. The story was first reported by The Epoch Times.

The Internal Affairs investigation was opened in September 2021 after a witness filed a complaint. Gary McBride of Decatur, Texas, compiled video evidence of the officer striking an unconscious Rosanne Boyland with a steel baton and a large wooden stick at the entrance to the West Terrace tunnel at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. The attack horrified McBride and prompted him to file a police brutality complaint with the department.

According to witnesses, Boyland was pinned by a group of protesters after police deployed tear gas. After being crushed for several minutes, Boyland lost consciousness. As Boyland lay unconscious on the ground, DC Metro Police Officer Lila Morris repeatedly struck her with a steel baton and what appeared to be a wooden walking stick, according to a video recording.

Justin Winchell, who traveled to DC with Boyland that day, pleaded with officers to stop.“She’s gonna die! She’s gonna die! …I need somebody! She’s dead!” Winchell exclaimed. From The Epoch Times:

Boyland was not pronounced dead until more than 90 minutes later, although she appeared lifeless when police dragged her body from the West Terrace tunnel entrance into the Capitol at 4:31 p.m.

Protesters attempted CPR on Boyland for several minutes after she fell. As this was happening, police officers continued to club protesters and deploy pepper spray against them. Testimony before a Congressional committee suggested police attempted CPR at 4:26 p.m., which wasn’t possible since at that time Boyland still lay on the concrete outside, being given CPR by protesters Jake Lang and Ronald McAbee.

The DC medical examiner later said Boyland died of an accidental overdose of Adderall, a ruling that Boyland’s friends and family have vehemently objected to. Her father, Bret Boyland, said Rosanne had been taking Adderall for about 10 years.
