The momey they make off of influrnce peddling, insider-trading and then revolving door into private sector lobbying are all loathsome and criminal. Until term limits are firmly in place, a 5-7 year ban on any post service lobbying and a comprehensive and onerous prohibition on stock market activities and a new rigorous reporting, investigatory and enforcement arm of the SEC or DoJ is in place, including new and thoroughly transparent tougher restrictions and reporting requirements on the use of 'blind trusts', Congress will only CONTINUE to attract the spineless and morally remiss bottom dwellers of society. It goes without saying
The Age of the Bureaucratic Oligarch typified by Nanceey Pelosi, Diane Feinstein, Tommy Tuberville (R-Al) and some 50 other Members of Congress MUST come to an end. Until the American Public can be assured that we will always have a Congress comprised of service-minded and not self-minded wheeler-dealers, all important trust in our Representative Branch of our Government will always be lacking.
The chief reason for the overall disgust of our past and present Government is no better exemplified by the lifelong members of Congress who have become multi-millionaires only after a 2-3 terms in office. The fact that these individuals become financial elites only after a few years of service at the taxpayer's expense, res ipsa loquitor, or "speaks for itself", that they have done so by illegal or what should be illegal means. Everyone, inside and outside the Beltway is and has been aware of this major defect in our Government. It is one of the prime reasons that more and more eligible Anericans are becoming disdainful of the voting process. The criminal set in Congress welcomes this distain and will only act to see that it flourishes. For that very reason, those in Congress with a properly working moral compass must unite and enact the necessary reforms.
However, all of that 'heavy-lifting' in Congress must come secondary to the underlying deadly disease of our body politic, that is, the complete lack of trust the American People have in the voting process itself. Until the massive fraud of the 2020 election is addressed and rectified, any other move to reform our Government will only be in vain.
