People who worship god are worshiping the collective exemplary drama of our ancestors. We are contributing to that image by not only personifying that drama, but also embodying it in our lives. It is not a literal omnipotent being in the sky guiding our every move. It's our collective psyche creating order from chaos as we make decisions that effect the future. The more individuals who shoulder their suffering and take on the responsibility of bettering the world, the more our potential futures as a collective bend towards good.

But mankind is also capable of horrific things.

The idea of Satan is the collection of horrific deeds that mankind is capable of. If you can imagine an evil deed, it has been done on purpose in the service of the malevolence of mankind (Satan). This organized purpose can only exist so long as an organized good society exists. Once people are exposed to the organized evil, the greater society fights it. Hence the light vs dark. Evil must exist within darkness in order to thrive. If light is shined on it, meaning exposed to the greater society, it withers and dies. The same is true for the opposite action though. If darkness overwhelms, the evil will consume all functioning souls within a society and it will crumble into nothingness (tower of babel).

There's a symbiosis required for evil to exist. Evil needs something to corrupt and exist in the shadows so that the organized, evil, secret social order can thrive and carry on from generation to generation.

I'm just rambling here, so to be succinct, good and evil are real human traits. They are both personified in meta-meta form and we are now fighting those who believe and worship the evil of man.

The good news is that we are the last bastion of good. The distributed, anonymous fighters for good. We cannot be isolated and corrupted, our souls are resilient to the capture of Evil.

That is why we are here. That is why WWG1WGA.
