I remember some Israeli leader said they control America, I thought that was Ariel Sharon though. Nothing about scattering America to the 4 winds.

'twould be nice. But not happening. Best to write off California and give them no help as they sink into the fiscal abyss they've created with the expectation of federal assistance.

"Most" of them technically competent? Maybe in your sample, but certainly not overall. The 95 IQ person whose only path to a college degree is sociology or gender/racial studies is more likely to be a leftist than the engineer is.

It's gone back though recently. Social capital being tracked in some smaller cities. Xi Jinping being possible President-for-life. Some older Chinese who remember the Cultural Revolution say this feels disturbing.

Well it's kind of a good idea to put it on a volcano. Instead of drillng 5000 feet like they did in Switz., just 1000 feet and they probably got a lot more heat!

Until … this. They fracked a volcano (!) and now can never prove they didn't cause this eruption.

Yeah, it's so big that when you're in the middle of it, it's hard to find a stable reference point to use as a guide. It's just craziness all around, and people who call that craziness "our institutions", "our democracy", "real patriotism" etc.

I remember before 1980, before Reagan, when our big corporations had good piles of cash and working life was pretty decent and moderate, pensions were defined-contribution and careers could be with one company.

All that ended with Reagan, the LBOs that gutted our corporations, and other bad things Reagan did.

Weinstein is not Epstein. What we know about Weinstein is that he made deals with consenting adult females that if they did certain sexual things, he would make them stars. And if they did, he did.

Now after their movie star careers are over, these whores bitch about the deal they made and the man who made their careers possible.

We'll see about this case, maybe there's real evidence of wrongdoing … or not. But so far Weinstein's been vilified far beyond what we can see he did wrong.

They were, they said so. And then said he was so horrible, it was sexual harassment, bla bla bla. They could have just walked away and not become movie stars. (But of course that's too much to ask of them.)
