Today’s government spending scandal information comes to us by way of an order paper response from the government to a question asked by Conservative MP Cheryl Galant that was read into the official parliamentary record two weeks ago.

In March 2020, the Trudeau government quickly allocated $2 billion to buy protective personal equipment. However, like with all government spending, that amount quickly ballooned to $8 billion. One of the businesses awarded that public health manna from heaven was Thornhill Medical which was the recipient of an agreement to spend $200,451,621 for the purchase of 1,020 ventilators.

Conservative MP Cheryl Gallant asked Health Canada how many of the 1,020 Thornhill ventilators were delivered and then deployed.

Only 857 of the 1020 units purchased by Health Canada in the nearly one-quarter billion-dollar contract were delivered and only 59 were ever deployed.

Amid loud pops, Rebel News's Quebec-based reporter Alexa Lavoie was directly hit by police during the melee, injuring her.

Prior to the melee, at least two police officers can be seen accidentally dropping some of their less-lethal firearms and attempting to pick them back up as other officers push back the line.

“[Truckers] in my experience, have a lot of backbone, and I think what you’re showing to the world today is that ‘spinal integrity’ which is a reflection in some ways in a lot of Canadians, but it seems you guys have it spades,” added Malthouse, adding that physicians like himself, who have expressed their concerns over COVID policy as medical professionals, have received backlash from their colleagues, the media, and public health.

A Catholic school board in Canada will ask students to self-certify their gender identity and provide other private information in a school-wide survey kept hidden from parents.

The Waterloo (Ontario) Catholic District School Board (WCDSB), which made headlines for flying an LGBTQ pride flag outside its headquarters last year, announced the launch of its “School Climate Survey” for children in grades 4 through 12 on its website.

Students will have from February 22 to March 11 to complete the voluntary survey, which the board says will be anonymous.

The survey adopted by the school district is called the Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) and was developed by a research team at Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) led by Dr. Kim Schonert-Reichl at the University of British Columbia.

According to the school board, whose motto is “Quality, Inclusive, Faith Based Education,” the 77-question survey “asks students about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in school and in the community.”

The WCDSB, which states that it is committed to “dismantling racism” and working “intentionally to disrupt oppressive systems for the benefit of future generations,” said the goal of the research is to “help prevent bullying and promote safe and inclusive schools, determine the effectiveness of programs on an ongoing basis, and build and sustain a positive school climate.”

The school board has stated that only staff within the district’s Research & Data Services Department “will have access to your child’s anonymous survey responses,” which will otherwise be kept hidden from parents, teachers, and principals.

Some of the questions included in the lengthy survey have raised alarm bells, especially those having to do with gender identity.

According to a copy of the survey obtained by LifeSiteNews, students are asked to identify which adults they “live with most of the time,” including options for selecting “two mothers,” “two fathers,” or “other adults.”

Children are also asked to answer “how do you describe your gender?”

The survey respondents, children age nine through 18, can select “boy,” “girl” or indicate that they identify “in another way.” Continue…

A watchdog group summary of spontaneously reported adverse reactions from the so-called “gold standard” abortion pill regimen shows numerous reports of serious events resulting in hospitalization.

Four total reports of life-threatening sepsis, numerous reports of hemorrhaging, and numerous failed abortions were among the findings of a report on the abortion pill regimen Mifegymiso, released in January by The Canada Vigilance Program, “a spontaneous reporting system” designed to detect “potential health product safety issues.”

The summary shared 43 reports of “adverse reactions” from Mifegymiso, the name in Canada for the combined use of Mifepristone and Misoprostol. The regimen is on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) list of essential drugs and is considered the “gold standard” for early medical abortion, according to the WHO.

A caveat on the first page of the report highlights the fact that these adverse reactions have been reported on a voluntary basis, and they cannot be used to determine the incidence of a particular reaction, or to estimate the risk of a product, since the total number of reactions and number of users of the abortion pill regimen is unknown.

Elections Canada says it will be conducting a probe after it was revealed earlier this month that nearly 205,000 mail-in ballots went uncounted during the 2021 federal election.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, Chief Electoral Officer Stephane Perreault said during a Commons House affairs committee that it was “unfortunate” that the record number of ballots was not included in the final election results.

“Obviously any late ballot is unfortunate. These are people who wanted to cast a ballot but we were not able to count them,” said Perrault.

“We’ve never had such a large-scale vote-by-mail operation. We are looking at every angle to see how it can be improved in the future.”

Ahead of the 2021 election, Elections Canada encouraged voters to cast mail-in ballots instead of attending voting stations due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“We actually have the ability to confiscate those vehicles and sell them,” Mayor Jim Watson said Saturday.

“And I want to see them sold. I don’t want the return to these people who’ve been causing such frustration and angst in our community.”

The mayor told CBC News that Ottawa has that power due to the Emergencies Act, which was invoked by the federal government last week.

Watson said he’s been pleased by the level of professionalism shown by law enforcement since officers began stepping up their efforts Friday to clear the protest. But he also said he worries about demonstrators who have been “taunting police, being completely irresponsible, and don’t want to seem to leave.”

Now as the snow settles in Ottawa, the protesters were arrested for the crime of ‘mischief’.

At least when the goons in the US Capitol arrested protesters, they charged them with grandiose charges that were untrue but sounded horrible. The people in the Jan 6 protests in the US were claimed to be seditious for protesting a seditious stolen 2020 Election. Although a lie, it sounded worse than ‘Mischief’.

In response to Trudeau’s unprecedented actions Jason Kenney, the Premier of Alberta, Canada launched a Court challenge to the government’s invocation of the Emergencies Act.

Premier Kenney made the announcement on Saturday night.

Kenney calls Trudeau’s actions:

– unnecessary

– disproportionate

– violates natural justice

– intrudes into provincial jurisdiction

– creates a dangerous precedent.

Of course, the liberal hacks on CTV, a publicly funded fake news channel, attacked Premier Kenney for supporting the truckers.

As if the scenes out of Ottawa weren’t already disturbing enough, videos emerged on Saturday of Canadian law enforcement officials diligently filming the crowds of protesters as they continue clearing the convoy.

In one example, Officers with handheld cameras can be seen perched above and behind the line of police for a better view.

The dystopian scene is all the more concerning when you consider what Nancy Pelosi and the sham witchhunt commission have done in the aftermath of January 6th. Hundreds of Americans were tracked down and are still being unconstitutionally held in the DC gulag – and that was without the use of something like the Emergencies Act, which is what is being used by Trudeau in Canada right now.

Ottawa’s Interim Chief of Police Steve Bell was asked about the surveillance during today’s press conference, and, unfortunately, he confirmed that law enforcement is likely going to be following the Jan 6th playbook with the videos they collect.

In response to a reporter’s question about if police will be pursuing the people they have documented after the protests have ended, Bell stated that the police “will actively look to identify” people on the videos so that officers can track them down and hit them with “financial sanctions and criminal charges.”

“This investigation will go on for months to come,” he adds.

Trudeau and his Snowflake Stasi (SS) officers have taken their tyranny way too far. Any and all violence, or at very, very least the overwhelming majority of it, has been spurred and carried out by the police, not the protesters.

They have been peacefully exercising their rights to stand up to Trudeau’s tyranny – nothing more. This is unacceptable, it’s Canada’s Tiananmen square moment. Canadians – and Americans – will not forget this horror show.

Yes, she could have gone home.

Yes, she could have gotten the clot-shot.

Yes, she could have just complied with whatever Justin Trudeau told her what her morality was.

But Trudeau could have chosen differently as well. As opposed to acting like a scared little boy worried about facing public ridicule, he could have sacked up and met with the protestors.

Instead, he did what all boy-emperors have ever done, he chose violence and intimidation.

Those who blame the victims are worse than Justin Trudeau. They will never admit it, even to themselves, but their belief in the state as moral arbiter is shaken to its foundation when things like this happen.

So they bluster about playing stupid games, win stupid prizes. Empathy? Who needs that in Davos’ Brave New World.

Those against the protests have their reasons, none of them, however, are morally justified. Because if you allow the state, an immoral construction at its core, to define your morality, you will forever having to justify tyranny to remain on the side of the angels.

Blaming the victim is the easiest thing to do. How many rapists have claimed “she had it coming?” How many abusers every day blame the people they abuse because they are too ashamed to admit they are in the wrong?

Exit committee declares pandemic effectively over in Canada as it has reached the endemic stage, and should be treated as such

A group of leading scientists, doctors, and policy professionals says it is time to end all COVID-19 restrictions across Canada, including vaccine mandates and passports.

Known as the Canada Science & Policy Committee to Exit the Pandemic, the group says the pandemic is effectively over because it has reached endemic stage.

“It’s endemic. We’re good to go on the general immunity front,” Irvin Studin, co-chair of the committee, said at a press conference on Feb. 18.

“At the front end on COVID-19, all restrictions are, for all practical intents and purposes, to be removed expressly. Vaccination mandates, vaccination passports, masking requirements, quarantining requirements, testing requirements are to be removed expressly.”

The group issued a national exit plan on Feb. 18, detailing how Canada can transit out of the pandemic over the next few months, with an emphasis on dropping all related mandates and restrictions immediately.

For the immunocompromised, aged, and those with comorbidities, the group recommended early interventions, seasonal vaccination, and other treatments.

Studin said now that the plan is ready, it will be briefed to governments and decision-makers across the country. He noted many of them have already been briefed.

“It will help them. In some cases, they will use it outright. In other cases, they will fill in details for local realities,” he said.

The exit committee, made up of 15 members across disciplines and all regions in Canada, was launched in January under the aegis of the think tank Institute for 21st Century Questions (21CQ).

Among the committee’s core members are Dr. Kwadwo Kyeremanteng, a critical care physician from the Ottawa Hospital; Pierre Pettigrew, former health minister of Quebec; Thomas Michalak, professor of Molecular Virology and Medicine (Hepatology) at Newfoundland and Labrador’s University; and Alexandra Lysova, associate professor of Criminology at Simon Fraser University.

New Mexico Republican congresswoman Yvette Herrell is promising to introduce legislation to offer asylum to Canadian protesters.

Since a movement dubbing itself the ‘Freedom Convoy’ emerged at the end of January and headed to Ottawa to protest vaccine mandates for border crossings, labour leaders, the media and online activists have moved from perplexed to outright hostile. Some have even cheered on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s announcement this week of plans to invoke the 1988 Emergencies Act to clear out the protests. But the impulse to defend freedom and self-determination has attracted a diversity of groups to the cause. The fact that many indigenous have joined in support of the protests tells us that the desire for freedom is a spark we would do well not to extinguish.

Throughout their time in the Canadian capital, the truckers have attracted support from a wide cross section of Canadian society including indigenous Canadians who make up about 5% of the Canadian population. Many members of my own family joined the convoy, making their way south to Ottawa from Northern Ontario. Some joined in at the capital. Indigenous people appeared in full regalia and others wore orange T-shirts symbolising protest against atrocities at residential schools. While some groups within the convoy undoubtedly held different ideas about the underlying causes, two clear demands have emerged: 1) end covid-related mandates, and 2) roll back forms of digital surveillance enacted since the start of the pandemic. Liberty Coalition, recalling how it had sought to alert the Canadian authorities to its “profound concern about the indefinite suspension of civil liberties, coercive mandates and perpetual state interference in the life, freedom and worship of the church,” noted how it had been “largely ignored, brushed aside, insulted and even told we in no way represent Canadians.”

Yet when the “hugely popular” Freedom Convoy “presented your government with a wonderful opportunity to meet with and speak to ordinary Canadians lawfully and peaceably requiring the restoration of their constitutional rights,” Trudeau had “insulted, denigrated and lied about them, further dividing a hurting and broken nation,” the Coalition wrote.

“We do not hesitate to fulfill our responsibility as servants of the living God by unapologetically reminding you that Jesus Christ is Lord and King and the ruler of the kings of the earth,” continued the open letter.

Protesters in Winnipeg have blocked a street leading to the Manitoba legislature for weeks and have no intention of moving any time soon.

Over 1,000 demonstrators descended on the Alberta legislature in Edmonton, while I personally observed a protest march of thousands through downtown Calgary on Saturday afternoon.

The Calgary protest was surely one of the largest held in living memory, yet it barely garnered notice from the legacy media outlets.

I don’t doubt there were other demonstrations in other parts of Canada on that day, but it is tough to find reference to them as there appears to be a concerted effort on the part of the mainstream media to ignore them. It is little wonder demonstrators have been standoffish with mainstream reporters at times.

The Freedom Convoy phenomenon hasn’t been shut down through the police action in Ottawa—it’s been decentralized. The heavy hand of the law only scattered the demonstrators and has made them more determined than ever to push back against government-imposed pandemic mandates.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act passed a vital vote in the House of Commons on Monday thanks to the parliamentary support of Jagmeet Singh and the New Democratic Party (NDP).

185 MPs voted in favour of the act with 151 against.

The NDP sided with the Liberals in passing the motion, while the Conservatives and the Bloc Quebecois opposed it.

The Trudeau government invoked the act on Feb. 14, immediately granting itself unprecedented powers. However, the government needed to seek approval from the House of Commons within seven days in order to extend its use for at least another four weeks.

Had the vote had failed, the emergency declaration would have been revoked immediately. As a confidence vote, it would also likely have triggered a federal election.

The passing of the motion in the House of Commons will keep the emergency measures in place until mid-March at the latest. The Senate must also vote on the government’s request, although this will serve more as a formality.

Immediately after the vote, interim Conservative leader Candice Bergen attempted to enter a motion recalling the use of the Emergencies Act.

Her motion was ruled out of order.

“We will continue to fight this power grab by the Prime Minister and his government,” Bergen said in a statement following the vote.

“That’s why immediately following the vote, Conservatives gave notice of a motion to revoke the Prime Minister’s emergency. Liberal and NDP MPs will need to explain to Canadians why they are continuing to enforce a national state of emergency that gives the federal government far-reaching powers and authority.”

Since the act was invoked last Monday, supporters of the Freedom Convoy have had their bank accounts frozen, while police in Ottawa brutally cracked down on protesters over the weekend. All border blockades, including those in B.C., Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario, had already been cleared before or shortly after Feb. 14.

Trudeau is the first Prime Minister in Canadian history to invoke the Emergencies Act since it was created as a successor to the War Measures Act in 1988.

Earlier on Monday, Trudeau justified invoking the act and urged other MPs to support its continued use.

“Invoking the Emergencies Act has been necessary. Law enforcement agencies relied on it to set up secured areas in downtown Ottawa and at border crossings,” said Trudeau.

“It prevented foreign money from continuing to fund illegal blockades, and it’s making sure our borders remain open. It has been the responsible thing to do.”

Moments after the motion passed, MPs voted to adjourn Parliament until Feb. 28 – in the middle of a so-called national emergency.

Julie Bourgeois, who was a Crown attorney when she ran, came in second place for the Liberals in the 2011 federal election, losing to former Conservative MP Pierre Lemieux.

Bourgeois also made 71 donations to the federal Liberals from 2009 to 2014, ranging in amounts from $5 to $1,186.

During her failed campaign, Bourgeois spoke about how tough times led people to commit crimes.

“Not necessarily major crime,” she said. “You see desperate people going through desperate times.”

Justin Trudeau himself had also praised Bourgeois in a campaign video.

Lich, who is facing counselling to commit mischief charges, was denied bail on Tuesday.

The judge said the convoy’s effect on Ottawa was immense and that Lich was stubborn in her responses to the court during her bail hearing. She said that the organizer’s detention “is necessary for the protection and safety of the public.”

The revelation that the judge was a failed Liberal candidate came when prominent Canadian psychologist and author Dr. Jordan B. Peterson posted an email from a tipster on Tuesday.

Trudeau vowed this week that emergency measure will remain in place, and the Canadian parliament voted Monday to keep them in force.

Here’s what I think is going to happen next in Canada.

The provinces are going to continue to lift their vaccine mandates, but it has nothing to do with their being convinced of the scientific merits of doing so. Rather, it’s because other countries around the world who will be demanding vaccine passports from visitors will want those passports to be issued by a national, not a provincial government. This is why Ontario, for instance, has postponed the lifting of its vax passport until mid-March, rather than doing it immediately. Ontario is waiting for the new federal vax passport to dovetail with its own, before it goes ahead and lifts it.

The federal government will implement a universal vaccine mandate for everyone in the country, probably around the middle of March when Ontario’s is set to expire.

There will be questions asked about whether this is correct within the division of powers sections of Canada’s constitution (section 91 and 92). Trudeau and his cabinet will purport to resolve the issue by sending this reference question to the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC).

On a reference, the federal government gets to frame the issues and provide all the evidence. The only issue that will be addressed is the division of powers issue. The feds will completely sidestep the question the legitimacy of vaccine passports. They won’t raise the question of Section 6 of the Charter (mobility rights), Section 7 (life, liberty and security of the person) or any other sections.

On a reference like this, every province has the absolute right to intervene. Nobody else has any right to intervene, but even if they did, they wouldn’t be entitled to submit any evidence or expand the issues.

The provinces have probably already agreed that they will support a federal vax mandate. That takes each provincial premier off the hook with his own voters. The provinces will all send lawyers to the SCC reference and agree that the federal government has the right to impose this nationwide mandate.

The judges of the SCC, hearing no opposition, and being all fully vaccinated themselves, will approve the federal plan. The issue of Charter violations will not be dealt with in this reference.

The federal government will go ahead and implement its nationwide vaccine mandate, stating boldly that “It has been approved by the Supreme Court of Canada.”

The Freedom Convoy has been duped into advocating a SCC reference. I wrote about it in Western Standard here, and produced a Bitchute video about it here, as to why this would be a very bad idea. But my advice isn’t wanted. So the federal government will be able to say, “Look, even the freedom convoy wanted a reference to the SCC.” They won’t bother to separate the issues.

Canada is cooked.

I just hope I’m not giving them any ideas they haven’t already thought of. But I’m pretty sure they have already got this planned. That would explain the timing of why the provinces aren’t removing their vax mandates immediately. It would also explain why the federal government hasn’t already initiated a reference to the SCC when it’s already facing numerous Charter challenges, and many misguided people suggesting that it ask for a reference.

I won’t get much satisfaction later from being able to say, “See, I told you so,” but this is how I think the future will unfold for us.

Protests continue across Canada in support of Freedom Convoy

Citizens and also the premiers in a number of provinces disagree with the federal government using the Emergencies Act against the Freedom Convoy protesters.

On the weekend leading up to the Emergencies Act (EA) vote that took place on Monday night in Parliament, Canadians from all over the country took to the streets to protest COVID policies and in support of the Freedom Convoy movement.

The EA was supported by the House of Commons, and will be in place – unless there is a new development – until 30 days have passed from February 14.

Gruesome scenes took place in Ottawa last weekend, including an elderly indigenous woman being trampled by a police horse and a female journalist being tear-gassed and shot in the leg with a riot gun.

These events took place in conjunction with the arrests of multiple convoy organizers and supporters.

Despite the events in Ottawa, protests in support of the freedom movement in Canada took place in various provinces and cities.

Also, Premiers are now taking the feds to court or considering doing so in light of the EA.

Quebec City was home to a smaller convoy and a protest that had fireworks and live music.

Not to be outdone, Winnipeg has a protest of its own that doesn’t look like it is slowing down. The organizers are now demanding to meet the prime minister in the same fashion that Ottawa protesters did.

Premier Heather Stefanson said that she does not want the EA to apply to her province, even though her own province experienced protests at the border.

The streets of Calgary, Alberta were also filled with tens of thousands over the weekend protesting government overreach.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has no intention of quashing the protests with emergency powers and has even decided to take the federal government to court as a way of pushing back against what he sees as government overreach.

On Vancouver Island, protesters lined the streets of the provincial capital in Victoria, British Columbia. Residents of the city honked in support and were greeted with loud affirmation.

Toronto saw the streets flooded with demonstrators who walked in huge numbers waving Canadian flags, despite Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s support of the federal government’s EA.

In Saskatchewan, Premier Scott Moe is considering legal action against the federal government like his Albertan neighbor.

As things heat up in Ottawa, with the EA now being debated in the Senate, it looks like Canada is showing no signs of declining activity against Trudeau and his policies.

A Canadian farmer from Saskatchewan says his bank accounts were frozen because of a $500 donation he gave to the trucker Freedom Convoy’s GiveSendGo page. The incident now has him thinking about “moving away out of Canada.”

According to a Western Standard report today, the farmer, who chose to keep his name under wraps for fear of more reprisals from authorities, had donated to the Freedom Convoy’s GiveSendGo page after the group’s original GoFundMe page was canceled on February 4.

He said days after donating, both his personal and business bank accounts were “frozen.”

The farmer said, as reported by the Western Standard, that he had noticed what he called “red flags” after his bank told him some transfers he had requested were being held up.

“All of a sudden everything was frozen,” the farmer said.

“I couldn’t do an e-transfers, I couldn’t pay bills online.”

Even after speaking with his local branch, the farmer said the bank told him nothing, as it’s “all dictated from Toronto.”

The farmer said he had to resort to relying on friends to help him pay bills via their bank accounts.

The farmer added that while he has hired a lawyer to help him resolve the issue with his bank, the attorney has not been very helpful thus far and that the entire situation has left him feeling powerless. Continue…

Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) veteran James Topp has begun a gruelling march from Vancouver to Ottawa in support of Freedom Convoy protestors against Wuhan coronavirus restrictions and mandates.

Topp began his journey from Vancouver on Sunday and is looking to walk a distance of 4,395 kilometres/2,731 miles across a large portion of Canada to reach Ottawa and is joined by a small group of others.

A 28-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, Topp released a mission statement on his website “Canada Marches” saying, “We rise to serve Canadians with honesty, respect and compassion, for the purpose of reuniting our people. We do this, with the intention of ensuring our government upholds the laws that support Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms.”

According to a report from broadcaster CBC, Warrant Officer Topp was under investigation by the Canadian Armed Forces over his planned march. Several others have also allegedly been placed under investigation including two active-duty members of the elite counter-terrorism force JTF2.

With the parliament now formally invoking the Emergencies Act, many civil freedoms can be suspended in the name of dealing with our current emergency, whatever that may be.

The right to peaceful assembly and association has been suspended as gatherings are banned in certain areas. Property rights are being suspended as supporters of the Freedom Convoy are having their bank accounts seized and vehicles impounded. Rights pertaining to the security of the person have been suspended as police can force labour from people, such as tow truck drivers, upon threat of imprisonment.

As if the suspension of all the aforementioned rights wasn’t enough, in listening to Prime Minister Trudeau, it sounds like his government may want to infringe upon our rights even further under the dubious justification of quelling a protest crisis in Ottawa.

The Trudeau government may go after our rights to free speech, expression, and press.

During a press conference just prior to the parliamentary vote on the Emergencies Act, Trudeau expressed at length the reasons he felt invoking the Act was justified. Trudeau mentioned what he called “misinformation and disinformation” multiple times during the presser. It’s a week of reckoning in British Columbia as hundreds of health-care workers and public employees are now being terminated after being forced onto unpaid leave last year by provincial COVID vaccine mandates.

The firings in B.C. come even as provinces across Canada continue to drop COVID restrictions, including Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, who announced today that their vaccine passport programs would end this month.

B.C. is now the only province that has not signalled definitively when any of its vaccine policies will end. The province – which does not allow rapid testing – has among the most stringent vaccine mandates in the country, if not the world.

The province had announced last fall that frontline health-care and public service employees would be joining long-term care workers in requiring two COVID shots to keep their jobs.

When the deadline passed for health-care workers in October, the B.C. government announced its mandate had forced more than 4000 employees onto unpaid leave.

Termination of those frontline workers began Monday, with the province reporting 674 employees in the Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions now out of a job.

These firings also come as B.C. hospitals face staggering labour shortages.

The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) has reported a number of cryptocurrency exchange executives to police for speaking out against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s unprecedented use of the Emergencies Act to quash protests.

Both Kraken CEO Jesse Powell and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong were flagged to the police by the OSC.

Powell spoke out after Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland announced on Feb. 14 that the Trudeau government would seize the assets of convoy protesters and that crowdfunding platforms were now subject to government terrorist financing rules.

“Crowdfunding platforms now regulated under the Canadian Terrorist Financing Act. Do you see where this is going? Please do not fund causes directly from custodial wallets. I’m sure freeze orders are coming. Withdraw to non-custodial before sending,” tweeted Powell the same day.

Powell also donated one bitcoin to the crypto fundraiser HonkHonk Hodl to support the protests prior to the Trudeau government declaring them illegal.

Meanwhile Armstrong said that it was concerning to see the government take such measurest.

The February iteration of the Canadian Border Security Agency's newsletter was penned by the organization's Forward Together team: Johanne Charest, regional director general of Canada Border Service Agency's Atlantic Region; Charlotte Demers-Doiron, champion, employment equity, diversity and inclusion; Kim Beals, Atlantic representative of the CBSA anti-racism task force; Taylor Olie, anti-racism ambassador.

This edition of the newsletter is all about race: white fragility, white saviourism and white solidarity. Though the newsletter promises to be “anti-racist”, it makes some sweeping statements and broad assumptions about the psyches of all white people based on skin colour, like these excerpts below:

“when confronted about race, white people are highly fragile because one will feel that their sense of decency and moral good — not to mention the deeply-engrained sense of superiority — is being threatened.”

“White fragility often looks like anger, fear or guilt bubbling to the surface, or behaviours such as argumentation, silence or withdrawal from the situation.”

The newsletter then went into a scenario of “white fragility” in the workplace, with the problematic white person in the situation given the unfortunate name of “Karen.”

The Fortins and Church in the Vine had a great lawyer, James Kitchen, hired through crowdfunding donations to FightTheFines.com.

The church, led by the pastoral duo of Rodney and Tracy Fortin, became one of the early religious objectors to COVID lockdowns not only on places of worship but society at large. The pair did their best to keep people safe but did not police their congregation on behalf of the bio-medical police state.

This bold stance to honour the rules of God over the government put the Fortins on the sinner's list of Alberta Health Services. Officials tried to enter and inspect the church during services but Tracy became a defacto bouncer, barring the door to protect the sanctity of worship.

For this, she personally received a stack of obstruction charges, along with the same charges issued to the church. Tracy and the church became enemies of the state, and AHS tried to use other agencies to get into the church, mobilizing Occupation Health and Safety (OHS) to try to inspect the church as though it were a dangerous construction zone or factory. The church got a fine for blocking that fake inspection too.

Thankfully, the Fortins and Church in the Vine had a great lawyer, James Kitchen, who is working so hard to fight those fines and charges through crowdfunding donations to www.FightTheFines.com, where people with lockdown tickets are connected with top lawyers at no cost to them as part of the civil liberties work of the registered Canadian charity, The Democracy Fund.

Even though the restrictions are being rolled back in Alberta, the fines, charges and summonses issued during the lockdowns are still winding through the court system. There is much work left to do helping people fight their lockdown tickets in court.

Overall, 27 seizure orders were issued to large truck operators from outside Ontario, banning them from operating any commercial motor vehicle within the province.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation has shut down 39 trucking businesses following the end of the “Freedom Convoy” trucker-led protests in Ottawa, several weeks after the protests first began.

Over the past weekend, police forces made over 200 arrests and ended the protests, which Canadian Prime Minister described as an “illegal occupation” of the city’s downtown core. Ottawa Police state it has towed 115 vehicles during the protests.

The local ministry confirmed to TruckNews.com that it had released 12 suspension and seizure orders to Ontario-based large truck operators involved in the protests. The move effectively suspended their authority to operate throughout Canada. The ministry also issued an order to seize all license place registered to the trucking businesses.

Protesters from outside Ontario faced sanctions of their own in their local jurisdictions.

Overall, 27 seizure orders were issued to large truck operators from outside Ontario, banning them from operating any commercial motor vehicle within the province.

The ministry did not reveal the names of the sanctioned businesses, or the number of trucks affected by the move.

“In an effort to preserve future police investigations into the illegal occupation in Ottawa, the ministry will not release the names of affected businesses at this time,” a ministry spokesperson said to the publication.

In addition to the truck registration suspensions, plates were also suspended for 24 passenger vehicles from Ontario, and 34 passenger vehicles from outside the province. Continue…

I joined the president of the Haultain Research Institute and former Mount Royal University professor Marco Navarro-Génie to discuss Frances Widdowson’s story and to talk about the widespread decline of universities.

Professor Frances Widdowson, who dared to question the Black Lives Matter movement and even argued on an academic basis that despite overwhelming negatives there were some positive outcomes as a result of residential schools, was fired following complaints from other staff and after an online petition calling for her termination received over 6,000 signatures.

It will come as no surprise to most that the overwhelmingly progressive academic world is becoming increasingly homogenized in their ideological uniformity. Universities were once places where ideas intersected and where divergent opinions were hotly debated. The best ideas prevailed; the rest fell by the wayside. Those days are long gone, and sadly the conversations — or lack thereof — in academic circles set the tone for society at large. The lack of dialogue in culture, the thought-policing of conservative perspectives and the rapidly-emerging dominance of progressivism all started within the universities.

What is particularly shocking about this story is that Frances Widdowson is far from a conservative stalwart — in fact, she would likely be considered by most a left-wing progressive. Now, the academic left is even cancelling their own if they dare step out of line, if they dare ask questions. The left's dogma is simply not to be challenged.

Documents obtained by True North from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) reveal a woke foreign service obsessed with microaggressions, race and “ambient bigotry.”

True North obtained the 134-page trove of documents from GAC through an Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) request. The ATIP is mainly composed of reports and communications related to consultations requested by GAC’s Anti-Racism Secretariat.

The bulk of the release is a report by “diversity and inclusion expert” Dr. Anita Jack-Davies of MOSAIC Cross-Cultural Solutions.

Jack-Davies was hired by Canada’s foreign service to review anti-racism efforts in the department and provide recommendations for improvement. Her report, titled Anti-racism Environmental Scan & Climate Review: Global Affairs Canada, was based on extensive consultations with – and complaints from – department staff and management.

In a presentation on the survey, Jack-Davies observed that the “workplace culture is not good. It’s a culture that demands self-reliance.”

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) has launched a petition calling on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to scrap the more than $1 billion in funding per year for the CBC and to stop giving $600 million of taxpayers’ money to other media outlets.

“We launched this petition because Canadians should decide which news outlets they prefer and to support them financially if they choose to do so,” said CTF B.C. director Kris Sims in a statement emailed to True North on Thursday. “They should not be forced to pay for it through the government.”

Sims said that she has been in newsrooms most of her life and that if the government is padding journalists’ paycheques, it “gives the perception of bias.” She added that government funding for journalism is “not fair to the taxpayer and it’s not good for the journalist.”

“We are more than $1 trillion in debt,” she said. “We cannot afford to be handing more than $1 billion to the CBC every year and doling out $600 million in taxpayers’ money to other media outlets.”

CTF federal director Franco Terrazzano said that he expects the CTF petition will receive thousands of signatures.

“An independent and free press is a crucial pillar of democracy,” said Terrazzano. “To be independent – in practice and perception – the government must end all media subsidies and defund the CBC.”

The CBC received about $1.4 billion in funding from the Canadian government in 2021, which made up 70% of its revenue. Trudeau also promised during the 2021 election to increase the state broadcaster’s funding by $400 million over the next four years to make it less reliant on advertising.

“CBC/Radio-Canada is a fundamental Canadian institution,” read the 2021 Liberal platform. “Decreasing advertising revenues for all broadcasters are putting Canada’s public broadcaster under increasing pressure.”

The request for information was prompted by the admission to a House of Commons committee that the agency tasked with pandemic preparedness had been secretly using the location data of over 30 million Canadian cell phones and other devices to “evaluate public health measures and other aspects related to public health response, programming, planning and preparedness.”

The contract to turn over the Telus users' data ended October 2021, totalled $199,901.25, and required uninterrupted access to de-identified data, dating back to January 2019. The contract makes no stipulation to require Telus customers to consent to the sale of their data to the Federal government.

A new BBC investigation had come to the same conclusion we did last month when we pointed out (read: here): the dark side of the metaverse and how kids aren't safe in virtual spaces.

Part of the investigation included a 25yo BBC journalist who strapped on Meta's (formerly known as Facebook) Oculus Quest 2 goggles and spent hours in the virtual-reality VRChat app, posing as a 13yo girl. She found examples of child grooming, sexual material, racism, and rape threats.

While investigating VRChat, the journalist (remember, posing as a 13yo in an innocent avatar) came across pole dancing and strip clubs.

One user told the journalist that avatars can "get naked and do unspeakable things." Others spoke about "erotic role-play."

Following the investigation, BBC reached out to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), which said safety improvements in the metaverse are a matter of urgency.

NSPCC's head of online child safety policy Andy Burrows said the investigation had found "a toxic combination of risks."

Burrows told the BCC what they found was "extraordinary."

"It's children being exposed to entirely inappropriate, really incredibly harmful experiences," he said. Continue…

Watch a few seconds of this video from Trudeau’s statements about Ukraine yesterday and pay attention to the mannerisms of Freeland as the Canadian Prime Minister reads his prepared remarks. Watch her closely and what you will notice is that Freeland wrote the remarks. She is visibly saying them in her head while physically mirroring the exact cadence Trudeau uses as he delivers her script. WATCH:

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (LifeSiteNews) — Nova Scotia announced Wednesday that the province will scrap all remaining COVID restrictions by March 21, including a vaccine passport that will be discontinued next Monday.

The announcement came from Premier Tim Houston, who at a Wednesday press conference told Global NEWS: “Assuming everything stays on course, effective March 21, all remaining COVID restrictions in Nova Scotia will be gone.”

Houston opted to not discuss case counts and hospitalizations during his announcement and argued that “COVID zero is not a reality.”

“Living with COVID, that has to become our new reality.”

The premier explained that while lifting all COVID restrictions could come as “a scary thought for some Nova Scotians,” who have felt “protected by the restrictions,” others on the other hand have had restraints on them “that have stopped them from being able to really live their lives.”

“I know you want your life back to normal,” Houston said. “Today, you should see this as the announcing of a return to normalcy.”

The premier also announced that the so-called vaccine passport, or proof of vaccine, will be eliminated as of next Monday.

“The proof of vaccine has served its purpose,” he said, “but it was only ever meant as a temporary measure.”

Houston claimed that lifting the measures was in part possible because of a “better understanding” of COVID, but he also praised the high rate of vaccination in the province.

He concluded his announcement by calling for the government to “have confidence” in the people.

“We are at a point where we have to have confidence in Nova Scotians’ ability to use the tools available to them without the government telling them that they have to,” Houston said.

OTTAWA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — Canada’s Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland admitted Wednesday that the reason some Freedom Convoy supporters’ bank accounts were frozen under the Emergencies Act (EA) was to “convince” them to “listen to reason,” adding that some accounts will stay locked.

“These accounts, bank accounts, were frozen to convince people who took part in the occupation and illegal blockades to listen to reason,” said Freeland, as translated from French during a press conference announcing the end of the EA.

Freeland then said that “after this, we asked the banks to unfreeze these bank accounts.”

She added that Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has “already asked banks to begin unfreezing these accounts.”

At the same time, Freeland noted some accounts will remain frozen. “I’d just like to stress that there are bank accounts that will remain frozen but not because of the emergency measures. There will be other orders, court orders, and others, and because of these orders the bank accounts may be frozen.”

On Wednesday at the same press conference, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that he was ending the EA, saying “the situation is no longer an emergency.”

Still, Trudeau noted that for the future, a “reflection” on certain “threats” needs to be looked at. He said these include the “mobilization through social media, of extraordinarily motivated crowds” along with “misinformation and disinformation” and “foreign money and foreign influence.”

The EA had allowed the government the power to freeze anyone’s bank account associated with the convoy without a court order. It proceeded to put a block on several accounts.

By law, within 60 days of triggering the EA, it is required that an inquiry be initiated to investigate why the Act was needed. It is then required that Canada’s Parliament be presented with a report within 360 days with the findings.

Yesterday, the interim leader of the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) said Trudeau ended the EA only for “personal political gain.”

Trudeau took the unprecedented step of invoking the EA on February 14, claiming he needed it to deal with the Freedom Convoy. The demonstrators had been in Ottawa for the past three weeks protesting COVID mandates.

Twitter announcements put out by the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) during last weekend’s crackdown on Freedom Convoy protesters have received some unflattering international attention.

As law enforcement moved in on the Ottawa demonstrators, the OPS continually put out statements – some containing threats – in order to deter protesters and to keep residents of the city updated on the situation.

The tweets made it far beyond Canada’s capital, however, drawing reactions from foreign politicians, journalists and other public figures and organizations.

The most controversial tweet by far was where the OPS declared they would actively look to track down and charge anyone seen at convoy demonstrations.

Over 20,000 people commented, and over 10,000 shared the tweet.

Respondents included Texas Republican senator Ted Cruz, who retweeted it saying, “this is what happens without the First Amendment.”

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany described the tweet as “unreal,” while the Libertarian Party of Kentucky accused Ottawa cops of being tyrants and enemies of freedom.

In a sharply worded ruling about the pandemic’s effect on society, an Ontario judge has shut down a father’s attempt to force his ex-wife to get their two children unwillingly vaccinated against COVID-19.

Ontario Superior Court Justice Alex Pazaratz sided with the mother and two children, ordering that she be made the sole-decision maker over whether the children get the shots.

In his Feb. 22 ruling, Pazaratz lamented the polarization the pandemic has caused in society, and how it has divided people even in close relationships.

The judge also criticized the father’s tactic of trying to smear the mother’s character over her political views – including his pointing out her membership in the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) – rather than focus on the issues of the lawsuit.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) is telling Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to scrap lifetime expense accounts for former governors general after a recent poll found overwhelming opposition.

“This survey confirms what we already knew: taxpayers are not OK with seeing their money cover expensive entitlements for former governors general,” said CTF Quebec director Renaud Brossard in a press release on Thursday. “Frankly, what’s most surprising is how long it’s taking Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to do something about it.”

A Leger poll commissioned by the CTF suggested 78% of Canadians were opposed to post-retirement expense accounts for former governors general. This compared to 13% of respondents who supported the policy and 9% who didn’t know.

This policy received the most opposition in Quebec, with 88% of respondents saying it should be scrapped, compared to 75% in the rest of Canada. The poll also suggested that Canadians 55 years old and up were more likely to oppose this policy (87%) compared to 18-to-34 year olds (62%).

A Saskatchewan farmer who said his bank accounts were frozen because of a $500 donation he made to the Freedom Convoy’s GiveSendGo page has been offered free legal help from a top Canadian constitutional legal firm.

According to the Western Standard, the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) is offering to pick up the tab for the farmer, who has chosen to keep his name secret for fear of more reprisals from authorities.

JCCF Communications Director Marie Cathcart said as reported in the Western Standard that they will “will represent at no charge, individuals who have donated to the convoy and suffered a financial freeze on their accounts as a result.”

Cathcart noted that any legal action for the Saskatchewan farmer would be only focused against “the government” and would be “separate from his lawyer going after TD Bank.”

The farmer did hire a lawyer initially to help him resolve the issue with his bank. He said the entire situation has left him feeling powerless.

According to the Western Standard, the farmer says he will consider taking the JCCF up on their offer, if his accounts are not unfrozen soon, but noted he does not want “people to really know who the hell I am.”

“The mainstream media has identified some of the people that have donated and they’re getting harassed,” said the farmer.

The farmer expressed outrage at TD Bank, saying they shouldn’t be “following the Government of Canada’s illegal seizures.”

The detailed spreadsheet identifies eight major systems that have been affected by the pandemic and outlines measures these systems can take to recover and return to normal across a four-month period.

President Vladimir Putin has ordered his military’s nuclear deterrent forces to be on alert as international tension builds over Russia’s four-day-old invasion of Ukraine.

Putin said in a meeting of top officials on Sunday that the move was in response to leading NATO powers making what he called “aggressive statements,” according to Tass, the state-owned Russian news agency.

Russia, like the United States, has thousands of nuclear warheads that it maintains as a deterrent to an attack.

Roughly 27 percent of people aged 15 to 24 are unemployed in the MENA region, the highest percentage share of all world regions.

But, as Statista's Florian Zandt details below, based on data by the World Bank shows, even richer regions like North America are not exempt from the issue of young people not being able to find jobs.

On the contrary, the region comprised of the U.S. and Canada ranks fifth out of seven when it comes to youth unemployment and third when it comes to total unemployment according to World Bank data based on an International Labor Organization model for 2020. This issue is especially prevalent in Canada, where an estimated 20 percent of young job seekers can't find work, a number similar to countries like Puerto Rico, Lithuania, France and Nigeria. Overall, the lowest percentage of unemployed people, whether bracketed in the group aged 15 to 24 or total, can be seen in the East Asia & Pacific region. There, only four percent of people willing to work can't find jobs, while approximately eleven percent of young people were unemployed in 2020.

While the reasons for youth unemployment are manifold and complex, some of the more important indicators include levels of education and the degree of regulation of the corresponding labor markets. In OECD countries alone, roughly 178 million young people were unemployed in 2020.

MPs grilled Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino on Feb. 25 at a House committee hearing to examine the public order emergency declared by the government, with some focusing on whether the threshold had been met to call a national emergency, and others looking to find out why the Ottawa occupation lasted so long.

Addressing whether the threshold was met to invoke the Emergencies Act on Feb. 14, Conservative MP and public safety critic Raquel Dancho asked Mendicino if “our safety was in jeopardy with the protests in Ottawa?”

“Well certainly the size, scope, and scale of the illegal blockades at a number of borders and ports of entry, as well as the illegal occupation in Ottawa, met the threshold under the Emergencies Act,” replied Mendicino as he testified before the House of Commons public safety committee.

Large-scale protests in Ottawa, dubbed the “Freedom Convoy,” along with Canada-U.S. border blockades had occurred across the country in recent weeks to demand the lifting of COVID-19 mandates and restrictions. Most of the blockades were cleared before the government invoked the act, and the one in Emerson, Manitoba, dispersed on its own on Feb. 16, so Dancho focused on the Ottawa protest.

“I walked to West Block for two weeks past these protests. If there was such a threat to public safety, how could you have allowed members of Parliament to walk by that protest every day?,” asked Dancho.

Canadians should not be surprised by the fact that our Liberal Foreign Minister, Chrystia Freeland, has been hiding a big Nazi skeleton in her family closet.
