Autopsy report reveals gruesome details of Brian Laundrie's death

Laundrie's remains were discovered Oct. 20 in the Florida park after authorities conducted an exhaustive search. While an initial autopsy report showed that he had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, a forensic anthropologist conducted further examination.

The report says two slip-on shoes were located approximately 10 feet apart from each other. A "short barrel revolver handgun" and green shorts were also found at the scene, the report says.

The report also indicates that a single bullet entered the left side of Laundrie's head and that many of the human bones recovered had signs of "animal predation."

The report also recounted an interview with Laundrie's parents, Christopher and Roberta, in which they indicated that their son was healthy and did not take any medications.

"When I asked about the decedent's social history, Mr. and Mrs. Laundrie stated that they did not want to provide that information," the report reads.

The FBI previously said Laundrie had claimed responsibility for killing Petito, 22, who went missing while the couple was on a cross-country trip last year, in a notebook found near his remains.

Petito's body was found in September after a nationwide search, and it was determined that she died of "blunt force injuries to the head and neck, with manual strangulation” by the Teton County Coroner's Office.

Laundrie was identified as a person of interest by authorities early on in the investigation but went missing before he could be questioned further.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn has placed a hold on the House-passed stopgap spending legislation over a controversial grant program, a move that could complicate the legislation’s passage in the Senate as a Friday deadline looms.

The Tennessee Republican said in a statement last week that she placed a hold on the continuing resolution over allegations that a $30 million grant program under the Department of Health and Human Services aimed at reducing the risks of substance abuse was distributing drug paraphernalia. The move followed a report by the Washington Free Beacon that the program would fund the distribution of crack pipes to drug addicts, a claim the Biden administration denied.

Author and former psychology professor Dr. Jordan B. Peterson issued a message of congratulations and caution to Canadian truckers protesting vaccine mandates across the country.

"I've been asked to say a few words to the truckers in Ottawa, and so I've given that some careful consideration," Peterson began in a straight-to-camera address on his YouTube channel.

"You are now faced with a difficult choice, which is 'What is your criteria for satisfaction?'" Peterson said. "You need to determine that so you can negotiate with the necessary people."

….."More and more of you who are most reasonable are going to pack up and leave or decide that this is done sometime over the next week or so — or a couple of weeks; that's obviously up to you — but there'll be a remnant that's much more committed in some sense to more extreme goals," he continued. "That's going to be something very difficult to manage."

"You've been able to remain peaceful. You haven't taken the bait. You haven't responded with violence to quite remarkable denigration and provocation. That's a sign of tremendous discipline and care. It's going to get more difficult to maintain as this goes along. So I hope that you're all able to allow a sufficient victory to be sufficient," Peterson added.
