Weiner has been back in the news lately…

Anthony Weiner says he ‘probably’ could have beat de Blasio in 2013

By Mark Lungariello

February 16, 2022 8:17pm

Former Congressman-turned-radio host Anthony Weiner claims that New York City residents “blame” him for Bill de Blasio’s time as mayor of the Big Apple.

Weiner had frontrunner status in the 2013 Democratic Party primary before he stepped aside amid one of several sexting scandals, paving the way to a de Blasio victory.

But Weiner told 77 WABC owner John Catsimatidis in an interview Wednesday he could’ve still won that race.

The ex-pol left Congress in 2011 “in a cloud of scandal” after sending a lewd photo and called himself “probably the first-ever victim of a tweet that went wrong” in the interview.

“Tried to come back in 2013 and once again, my behaviors undid me in that election — even though I thought I probably coulda won,” he said.

“And some people still yet at me on the street that I’m to blame for de Blasio and I’m – I don’t know — I probably take that.”

Weiner was on the air promoting his new radio show on WABC with former Republican mayoral candidate and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa called “The Left vs. The Right.” Weiner talked about his series of scandals, which ended with him doing 15 months behind bars for obscenity.

Anthony Weiner embarrassed by Sean Hannity during disastrous interview

By Yaron Steinbuch

February 15, 2022 9:20am

Former Congressman Anthony Weiner was asked during his first TV appearance since spending 18 months behind bars for sending obscene material to a minor if he’s changed – and he answered, “Well, um, I think so.”

“I don’t think anyone can go through that kind of experience — and I think this is probably true of people who have been through other types of adversity — I don’t think you go through that type of experience and don’t emerge changed,” Weiner said Monday night on “Hannity.”

The disgraced ex-pol appeared on the show with Guardian Angels founder and former Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa to promote their new weekly show, “The Left vs. The Right,” on 77 WABC Radio.

Sean Hannity called Weiner’s answer “obscure.”
