anons on the topic of UNITY the history of Memorial Day is apt. After the civil war many people wanted to honor dead but money was scarce - esp in the defeated south. In Georgia a group of women decided to bring the plentiful local flowers to the grave site and scatter them in tribute as an annual event. This was in 1866.

When they arrived they decided to do so NOT just on the grave of the Confederate fallen but also on Union graves - in recognition of ALL those who lost loved ones. This gesture of love and conciliation spread quickly and soon was adopted by a large northern veterans group. Just a few years later the event was formalized by Congress as a national holiday - Memorial Day.

The story is so instructive on the power of love and forgiveness and the fact that in war WE THE PEOPLE suffer wrongfully. UNITY is indeed a rightous goal. Once we expose and weed out those who would keep us in perpetual division and war the GA will have come. Blessings to us all WW.
