Elgar Parishad case: Accused wanted to create unrest in country, overthrow Modi govt, says court citing letter
A special court here has denied bail to three persons accused in the [Elgar Parishad-Maoist] links case, saying that the material on record suggests that the trio, along with other members of the [CPI (Maoist)], a banned organisation, hatched a "serious conspiracy" to create unrest in the country and to [overthrow the Modi government].

He is not a Martyr.
The Catholic Church and the Opposition will use this opportunity to target the Narendra Modi-led government without conveying the simple fact that Fr Stan Swamy along with his Maoist organization hatched a conspiracy to create unrest in the entire country.
While refusing bail to Fr Stan Swamy, the special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court held that “Prima facie it can be gathered that Fr Swamy along with other members of the banned organization hatched a serious conspiracy to create unrest in the entire country and to overpower the Government, politically and by using muscle power”.

October of 2020, 83-year-old Jesuit priest, Fr. Stan Swamy, was arrested by the Indian government on false charges of terrorism.
Fr. Kesicki’s statement came on the heels of a [Washington Post] investigation that discovered the evidence against one of the 15 activists incarcerated with Fr. Swamy was fabricated.
This development casts serious doubt on the validity of the charges against the entire group.
According to a statement from the Social Justice and Ecology Secretariat (SJES) for the Society of Jesus, Fr. Swamy is committed to peaceful dissent.
