jimmy hoffa did NOT take a loan FROM the mob. jimmy "invested" the money from the teamsters pension fund and strike fund by giving it TO the mob, which the mob used to finance the building of a number of casinos in vegas. the mob paid the teamsters union back, WITH INTEREST. it was a good deal for the truckers, jimmy did right by them, and got them a GREAT return on the "investment." the "illegality" of the deal was because it was not on paper, and not reported to the relevant gov't agencies that regulate investing and collecting taxes.
