Motorcade arrived at Arlington National Cemetery at 11:02 a.m. after an uneventful trip along the mall (where many tourists took the chance to snap photos) and over the Potomac.
As the motorcade rolled through the Cemetery, many onlookers, some holding flowers, lined the road and took photos. As the motorcade approached the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the road was lined with military personnel in dress uniform standing at attention.
Motorcade came to a stop at 11:05. Pool did not see POTUS exit.
POTUS arrived at the Tomb at 11:15. He was accompanied by Defense Sect. James Mattis and Gen. Dunford.
He was preceded minutes earlier by a small delegation including McGahn, Bolton, Sarah Sanders and others.
Among officials already among the few hundred assembled guests were: AG Jeff Sessions, Chief of Staff John Kelly, OMB Director Mick Mulvaney, Sen. Tom Cotton and DHS Sect. Nielsen.
While a military band played, POTUS and Mattis stood with hands over their chest facing the tomb while Dunford, between them, saluted.
POTUS was presented with the wreath and placed it at the tomb at 11:18. He stood before it silently, then stepped back after about 30 seconds. A light mist fell throughout.
The band played again and the three men stood as before. After another moment of silence, Trump, Mattis and Dunford turned, faced the crowd and ascended the steps into the amphitheater.
