ctor Jim Carrey said President Donald Trump's administration has turned the U.S. into an "evil empire" in his latest painting depicting an immigrant child being separated from their mother at the U.S. border.
Carrey’s painting shows Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents taking away a child from their mother. John Kelly, White House chief of staff, appears to be in the background next to an angry statue of liberty with a burning torch and the American flag.
“1500 innocent children ripped from their mothers’ arms at our border. Lost in Trump’s 'system'. Give us your tired, your poor, your huddle masses yearning to breathe free – and we will torture them for wanting a better life. From Shining City to Evil Empire in under 500 days,” Carrey wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
