It's the basic method of astrologers, fortune tellers and many others for thousands of years. It is a form of reverse cold reading, where the audience does the work, as the prediction is open to interpretation so only the interpretations, not the predictions, can be wrong.

Clinton's Pied Pied Piper was an effort to divide and PO the base on the right.
These current efforts by WL and SD seem to be suggesting an effort to unite to believe {whatever} while also suggesting the {whatever} might not be real, right or true…but the movement and faith are powerful.
