Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson told the CBC that the regime has the power to do this now that the Emergency Act was invoked by Prime Minister Trudeau.

Ottawa’s mayor says any vehicles seized during the police crackdown on the occupation of the downtown should be sold to cover costs incurred by the city.

“We actually have the ability to confiscate those vehicles and sell them,” Mayor Jim Watson said Saturday.

“And I want to see them sold. I don’t want the return to these people who’ve been causing such frustration and angst in our community.”

The mayor told CBC News that Ottawa has that power due to the Emergencies Act, which was invoked by the federal government last week.

Watson said he’s been pleased by the level of professionalism shown by law enforcement since officers began stepping up their efforts Friday to clear the protest. But he also said he worries about demonstrators who have been “taunting police, being completely irresponsible, and don’t want to seem to leave.”

One of them, 79-year-old Valentyna Konstantynovska, wielding an AK-47, was made the face of “Ukrainian resistance” by the world’s newspapers.

Engel left out of his account the fact that the military formation providing Konstantynovska’s training was the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion, clearly identifiable by its Wolfsangel insignia used by Hitler’s SS in the Second World War.

The concealed promotion of fascist militias says more about the US-led war drive against Russia over Ukraine than a hundred lying press conferences. Any conflict would not be a war for “democracy” or “self-determination” but a bloodbath of the Russian and Ukrainian working class, designed to dismantle Russia. Far-right forces built up over years with US support would be centrally involved.

Chinese Agribusiness Poised To Open Factory In North Dakota Draws Scrutiny Over CCP Ties, Security Risks

A China-based bio-fermentation products maker coming to the United States is being touted as a win for the local economy, but there’s growing concern over its national security implications and potential ties to forced labor.

The Epoch Times spoke to Ross Kennedy, founder of Fortis Analysis, about his recent research concerning China-based company Fufeng Group Limited that’s poised to set up shop in midwestern America. Fufeng is a manufacturer of bio-fermented products derived from corn, which are used in end products ranging from animal feed to pharmaceuticals. A Hong Kong-listed company, the group has multiple subsidiaries around the world, but most of its production facilities can be found in northeast China.

In early November, it was announced that Fufeng Group is in negotiations to bring its agribusiness company to Grand Forks, North Dakota. The new plant, which employs a manufacturing process revolving around the fermentation of corn starch, is expected to consume about 25 million bushels of corn a year. The cost of construction is estimated to near $350 million. Fufeng USA, the company’s American subsidiary, is handling the new endeavor.

Dubbed as a “historic” investment and game-changer for area farmers, the prospective project has been described as “the largest single private capital investment in the region’s history” according to Keith Lund of the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation. On Jan. 12, city officials tentatively approved significant tax breaks for Fufeng Group, the Grand Forks Herald reported.

The future plant will be “wet corn milling” facility and is expected to be fully operational by 2024 or 2025, local media reported. The company will produce corn gluten meal, corn gluten feed, lysine, and threonine for predominate use in animal feed products.

While local economic experts are optimistic, others are concerned about the impact of the facility on the environment. Yet some observers and residents have voiced worry about the human rights and security implications of dealing with a Chinese company amid rising Western scrutiny over the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) abuses, including its forced labor of Uyghurs in the far west Xinjiang region.

In a Jan. 31 letter to the editor of the Grand Forks Herald, Diana Hoverson said it “sounds like North Dakota is ready to deal with the devil!” To that end, Kennedy said he expresses many of the same concerns and the initial goal of his research into Fufeng was to simply look for possible ties to Uyghur forced labor. But his discoveries quickly escalated, which raised what he described as a “frightening issue of national security.”

One is to prevent Ukraine from being a NATO member and hosting US missile bases on Russia’s border. Another is that Ukraine is part of Russia and had been for 300 years until the Americans broke it off from Russia when Russia was to weak to do anything about it. Another reason is that Ukraine has violated the Minsk Agreement and continues to attack the Russian population in the Donbass region.

In actual fact, Russia doesn’t need any excuse, because no one can stop them.

Also ask yourself what is the point of an excuse. No matter how good it is, Washington and NATO would not believe it. The excuse would do no good and serve no purpose. In fact an excuse would be worse than no excuse, because the excuse would simply result in the endless refutation of the excuse.

If I were Putin and I wanted Ukraine, I would just take it. I would say, you Americans took Iraq and Libya. The Israelis stole Palestine. I’m taking Ukraine.

The real question is one the presstitutes will never address. Does all the focus on an imagined Russian invasion of Ukraine serve to direct attention away from the 150,000 Ukrainian troops on the Donbass border as Ukraine prepares to invade the Donetsk and Lugansk republics that broke away from Ukraine and are in the process of evacuating citizens to Russia in anticipation of a Ukrainian invasion?

Washington Post hammered for painting Freedom Convoy as 'explicitly racist,' arguing 'freedom is a key component of white supremacy'

The Washington Post was skewered for an opinion piece painting members of the Freedom Convoy as "explicitly racist," and arguing that expecting individual freedom is a "key component of white supremacy."

The article titled "The Ottawa trucker convoy is rooted in Canada’s settler colonial history" is written by Taylor Dysart – a Ph.D. candidate in the department of history and sociology of science at the University of Pennsylvania.

"The convoy has amassed significant support; its (now removed) GoFundMe raised more than $10 million (CAD) and it has been celebrated by several center-right and right-wing public figures, including Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and former President Donald Trump. The Freedom Convoy now touts itself as an 'Anti ALL MANDATES Movement,' desiring to remove all public health mandates," Dysart asserted.

"While the convoy’s supporters have characterized the protest as a peaceful movement, uninformed by 'politics, race, religion, or any personal beliefs,' many supporters have been associated with or expressed racist, Islamophobic, and white-supremacist views," Dysart stated.

"The convoy has surprised onlookers in the United States and Canada, both because of the explicitly racist and violent perspectives of some of the organizers and because the action seems to violate norms of Canadian 'politeness,'" Dysart claimed. "But the convoy represents the extension of a strain of Canadian history that has long masked itself behind 'peacefulness' or ‘unity’: settler colonialism."

"The history of Canadian settler colonialism and public health demonstrates how both overt white-supremacist claims and seemingly more inert nationalistic claims about 'unity' and 'freedom' both enable and erase ongoing harm to marginalized communities," Dysart wrote.

"The primarily white supporters of the Freedom Convoy argue that pandemic mandates infringe upon their constitutional rights to freedom," the WaPo writer continued. "The notion of ‘freedom’ was historically and remains intertwined with whiteness, as historian Tyler Stovall has argued."

In Stovall's book "White Freedom: The Racial History of an Idea," he contends that the Statue of Liberty "promised both freedom and whiteness to European immigrants." The book allegedly "provides vital new perspectives on the inherent racism behind our most cherished beliefs about freedom, liberty, and human rights."

Dysart alleged, "The belief that one’s entitlement to freedom is a key component of white supremacy. This explains why the Freedom Convoy members see themselves as entitled to freedom, no matter the public health consequences to those around them."

Bernie Madoff’s sister and her husband dead in suspected murder-suicide: cops

The sister of late fraudster Bernie Madoff and her husband were found dead in Florida in an apparent murder-suicide, authorities said Sunday.

Sondra Wiener, 87, and her spouse Marvin, 90 — whose lives were among those destroyed by Madoff’s $65 billion Ponzi scheme — were discovered dead from gunshot wounds in their home Thursday afternoon in Boynton Beach, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies received a call at 12:55 p.m. about the couple being unresponsive in their residence, authorities said.

“Upon arrival, deputies located an elderly female and male deceased from a gunshot wound,” the sheriff’s office said.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division are investigating their deaths as a murder-suicide, authorities confirmed.

Wiener and her husband had not been spared by her brother’s financial crimes, with the couple reportedly losing $3 million when his Ponzi scheme came crashing down in 2008.

“She lost millions in this whole thing,” a source told The Post in 2009.

Before Madoff’s crimes came to light, the siblings appeared close. The Wieners had lived near his Palm Beach estate in the BallenIsles Country Club, a gated enclave home to celebrities such as Serena and Venus Williams.

But in 2009, they downsized after selling the house for $575,000, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

Wiener had been among one of five relatives who received packages filled with pricey heirlooms allegedly mailed by Madoff and his wife, Ruth, on Christmas Eve 2008 — just days after the financier’s sons turned him over to authorities for defrauding his clients.

Though the sister did not work for Madoff Securities, her son Charles, 50, toiled there for decades, once serving as the director of administration.

US Agencies Quietly Studying Reports of Post-Vaccination Neurological Issues

Two U.S. agencies have been quietly studying neurological problems that have appeared in people who have had COVID-19 vaccines, The Epoch Times has found.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) have been conducting separate research projects into post-vaccination neurological issues, which have manifested with symptoms like facial paralysis and brain fog and have been linked in some cases with the vaccines, according to emails reviewed by The Epoch Times.

One attempt to gain understanding of a problem that experts around the world are struggling to understand is being carried out by Dr. Janet Woodcock, who was acting commissioner of the FDA until Feb. 17.

Woodcock, now the FDA’s principal deputy director, has been personally evaluating neurologic side effects from the COVID-19 vaccines since at least Sept. 13, 2021, according to the emails, many of which have not been reported on previously. FDA epidemiologists are also gathering data to look into the issues, according to messages from Dr. Peter Marks, another top FDA official.

A team at the NIH’s National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), meanwhile, started seeing patients reporting vaccine injuries for a study in early 2021 after receiving complaints shortly after the vaccines were made available. A portion of the patients was examined in person at the Bethesda, Maryland, facility.

None of the reviews or studies appear to have been announced, and health officials have said little about them publicly, despite a growing recognition among experts that at least some issues are likely linked to the vaccines.

Woodcock was aware of reports of post-vaccination issues by April 16, 2021, according to the emails.

Woodcock said she was sorry for the ordeals people were going through and that she was trying to find ways to examine what was happening. Eventually, she disclosed that she was working on an evaluation of “neurologic side effects from the COVID 19 vaccines,” according to a Sept. 16, 2021, email reviewed by The Epoch Times.

Prodded by people with diagnosed vaccine injuries, Woodcock insisted she was still working on the project.

“I am awaiting some information from the epidemiologists that I expect to get tomorrow,” she wrote on Nov. 16, 2021. “We are having difficulty pinning down these nervous system-related events that have been brought to our attention. I’ve asked for specific searches of the reports we get both from here and ex-U.S. (as these vaccines have been used in many countries) as well as from trials, where oversight of participants is greater.”

Woodcock said she was aware that people who suffer issues after getting vaccinated were looking for guidance on treatment but that there was “not a lot of certainty about what causes the symptoms.”

Woodcock confirmed to The Epoch Times in an email that the evaluation is still ongoing and has not been completed.

“When we know something definitive, we will put out a statement if warranted,” she said.

The FDA regulates vaccines, medical devices, and cosmetics, in addition to other products.

‘Reminiscent of China’ – Euro MP Slams Trudeau for ‘Tyrannical Actions’ Against Truckers

Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau has been denounced by a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) over the “tyrannical actions” he has taken against peaceful protestors taking part in the ongoing ‘Freedom Convoy’ demonstrations.

Cristian Terhes, a Romanian MEP, has denounced the “tyrannical actions” of Prime Minister Trudeau in regards to his actions against the ongoing Freedom Convoy protest.

The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group member went on to say that what Trudeau was doing was “reminiscent” of Communist China, and that the Canadian leader should be “isolated” by the international community over his actions.

“Justin Trudeau and his federal government must be isolated by the democratic international community to show revulsion at his tyrannical actions in Canada against peaceful protesters, who have been trampled under horse hoof as children have been batoned by federal security agents,” Terhes alleged in a statement sent to Breitbart London.

“Such scenes are reminiscent of China, whose government he wants to imitate, not to Western democracies,” Terhes continued.

The ECR group member’s comments come shortly after at least 100 demonstrators were arrested in Ottawa on Friday, with the Canadian government using emergency powers to crack down on the Freedom Convoy demos across the country.

Some of those taking part in the demonstration were trampled by mounted police, prompting significant outcry online.

Terhes also denounced Trudeau during a press conference earlier in the week, comparing the Canadian to Romania’s communist-era dictator, Nicolae Ceaușescu.

“What made us strong over the history — and I’m talking about the Western world — were the values,” the MEP said during the event, before slamming the Canadian PM for acting “exactly like a tyrant — like a dictator — like Ceaușescu in Romania.”

Ceaușescu was known for his excessive spending during a time of extreme austerity in the then-communist country, putting public funds into “megalomaniacal” constructions such as the People’s Palace, which remains one of the biggest buildings in the world.

Ceaușescu was ultimately executed by firing squad alongside his wife on Christmas Day 1989 after a revolution removed him from power.

This is an extremely aggressive response to Russia’s concern about missile bases placed on her borders. To speak frankly, Stoltenberg is inviting a Russian attack before she finds herself with more missile bases on her borders.

As if this isn’t enough and with Russia already concerned with the unwillingness of the West to abide by any agreements, treaties, and international law, the president of Ukraine declared today at the Munich Security Conference that Ukraine was on the verge of renouncing the Budapest Memorandum in which Ukraine agreed to abstain from nuclear weapons in exchange for its independence from Russia. So, Russia goes to the US and NATO and says frankly: “You are making us uncomfortable by putting missile bases on our borders and by your plans to bring Ukraine into NATO. This is not something we can accept. Here is our proposal for mutual security.” And the reply is more NATO military expansion and Ukraine developing nuclear weapons.

There was never any possibility of any success of Russian negotiations with Ukraine, because Ukraine is not a sovereign country and cannot make its own decisions. Ukraine is Washington’s pawn used to cause trouble for Russia. Russia brought this upon herself by standing aside while Washington overthrew the Ukraine government and installed a Washington puppet. Biden, Blinken, Stoltenberg, and the rest of the crew have made it completely clear that they intend to make Russia less secure. The West thinks that this is riskless because all the Russians will do is complain and ask for more negotiations. Washington has Russia trapped in the self-defeating process of answering Washington’s accusations.

Perhaps Biden, Blinken, and Stoltenberg are right. But on the other hand, what would you do if you were the government of a vast country allied with China and armed with a military force that can walk through any force NATO can muster as if it were a wet paper bag? Federal Reserve officials won’t be able to trade a slew of assets including stocks and bonds — as well as cryptocurrencies — under new rules that became formal Friday.

Following up on regulations announced in October, the policymaking Federal Open Market Committee announced that most of the restrictions will take effect May 1.

The rules will cover FOMC members, regional bank presidents and a raft of other officials including staff officers, bond desk managers and Fed employees who regularly attend board meetings. They also extend to spouses and minor children.

The chance of a child dying from COVID is not statistically significant. Dr. Peter McCullough, a top cardiologist who was previously world-renowned before speaking out against vaccines, has warned that the vaccine can cause heart injury. “When kids get myocarditis after the vaccine, 90 percent have to be hospitalized, they have dramatic EKG changes, chest pain, heart failure, they need an echocardiogram,” he said, adding “they need medication to prevent heart failure.”

The ingredients in the vaccine are unknown. The long-term consequences are unknown. What is known is that injecting an experimental mRNA vaccine with unknown risks into a toddler is wrong. The chance of a child dying from COVID alone is so low that it would border on being a freak accident as there is a less than 0.03% chance of death among children. Big Pharma and those profiting would absolutely love to mandate vaccines for children to attend schools. Hong Kong permitting three-year-old toddlers to gene therapy is a horrifying experiment and only time will tell of the consequences.

'Epstein's Pimp' Found Hanged in Jail Cell; All Public Action in Case Ends with the Death

A former modeling agent known as “Jeffery Epstein’s pimp” was found dead in a French prison where he was being held on rape charges.

Officials said Jean-Luc Brunel, 75, was found dead Saturday after apparently hanging himself overnight, according to a translated report in the French-language LeMonde.

A report in the Daily Mail noted that “His death in an alleged hanging will fuel conspiracy theories around the Epstein affair after the financier also died in prison while awaiting trial in what authorities concluded was a hanging.”

Brunel was indicted on rape charges in December 2020 and again in September 2021. His death will end any police investigation into those cases, as well as his potential links with Epstein, who was accused of sex trafficking at the time of his death.

The Daily Mail recounted the events as told by a source it did not name.

“A night patrol found his lifeless body at about 1 a.m. A judicial inquiry has been launched, and early evidence points to suicide,” the source said.

“There is an investigation going on to confirm all this, but at the moment it looks like he killed himself alone, and it was a routine patrol that found his body hanging,” the source said, noting that Brunel was not considered a suicide threat and was kept in a part of the prison where there are no video cameras.

“There were no obvious fears for the prisoner’s health, and he was not on a suicide watch, having already been in prison for many months,” the source said.

Brunel was accused by Virginia Roberts Giuffre — who this week won a court settlement in her lawsuit against Prince Andrew alleging sexual misconduct– as being a procurer for Epstein.

Israeli rabbi visits Iran, meets with local leaders and documents his trip

Ultra-Orthodox Rabbi Jacob Yisrael Herzog, who previously attempted to establish Jewish community in Saudi Arabia, tours Iran’s Jewish sites, meets religious leaders

An ultra-Orthodox rabbi from Israel, who had previously made headlines for trying to establish a Jewish community in Saudi Arabia, recently traveled to Iran, meeting members of the local Jewish community and visiting Jewish sites across the country.

Rabbi Jacob Yisrael Herzog currently lives in Jerusalem with his wife Deborah Lea and their eight children. But that did not stop him from boarding a plane to the Islamic Republic of Iran, whose leadership seeks Israel’s elimination.

Following the Iranian Revolution in 1979, Iran ceased all diplomatic relations with Israel, meaning that travelers with an Israeli passport are unable to enter the country.

Herzog, who holds dual US and Israeli citizenship, was able to enter the country using his American passport under his legal name, Jacob Levkoff Herzog.

Once there, he did not hide his Jewish identity, roaming around Tehran while wearing distinctive Jewish religious clothing.

According to the Kan public broadcaster, Herzog’s trip included visits to Tehran’s Grand Bazaar and a site believed to be the Tomb of Esther and Mordechai, located in Hamadan in northern Iran. He also met with members of the Jewish community in Tehran and with a number of Iranian religious leaders, according to pictures posted on his Twitter account.

Tennessee woman accused of raping at least 9 students; community shaken by allegations: report

Members of a Tennessee community expressed shock and outrage last week after a 38-year-old woman was accused of using vape pens and other enticements to lure local high school students into having sex with her, according to a report.

Melissa Blair, of Englewood, was arrested and facing charges of solicitation of a minor, 18 counts of statutory rape, four counts of human trafficking by patronizing prostitution, and forfeiture of personal property, WTVC-TV of Chattanooga, Tennessee, reported.

There were at least nine victims, who were age 14 to 17 at the time of the alleged crimes and attended the same high school, the station reported.

Authorities believe more victims exist, McMinn County District Attorney Steve Crump told the station.

"Parents need to talk to their kids to speak up because it’s not right. It’s just really, really not right," Englewood resident Christie Teague told the station, reacting to the allegations against Blair.

"I would be livid if it happened to my kids," Teague added.

"This isn’t just about putting a perpetrator behind bars," the mother of one of the teens, who requested anonymity, told the station. "This is about families healing."

After her arrest, Blair was out on bond Tuesday night with her next court date set for Feb. 28, WTVC reported. She was ordered to stay away from the school and have no contact with the teens, according to the report.

Fox News sent an after-hours message seeking a comment from Knoxville attorney Robert Kurtz, who was reportedly representing Blair.
