My browser is set to never open up pdf in browser, but instead download them.

With these settings, I click on mp4 disguised as pdf and get browser view of vid in new window.

Doesnt matter. This is no reason to discourage anons to find a workaround which works.

I, for one, try to work with what I got.

Seems you're using windows and/or your file browser does hide file extensions.

That's why you ended up with a file named "[xyz].pdf.mp4"

Change file browser settings to show file extensions and you'll be able to change them by renaming

Sorry, I know what you might be thinking ….. (pic relates)

… but it's not science. Kek!

You have your browser set up to interpret/show PDF files. So it tries to open a PDF as pdf and it fails, of course, because it is an mp4.

Either, remove that setting in your browser (pic for firefox->setting->general) or right-click save file someplace on you computer and open it using vlc (or whatever other player).
