couple things to keep in mind about florida
1)it's fucking hot
like you don't understand… you can't understand if you haven't experienced this type of heat and humidity before. Even swimming in ocean water is like bathing in a pot of hot piss with the stove on when it's 98 with a heat index of 110 and no wind. There's a reason half the state was unihabitable before AC became widely used.
2) Cost of living is skyrocketing
if you're from some places it may actually be cheaper than what you're used to, but some of you will be shocked. Where I've been for 30 years, 30 minutes from Jacksonville, where it's always been relatively affordable (cheap even) to live without too much crime, rent prices have doubled. Houses- 1600/month (nothing fancy) Apartments 1300/month

yeah important to know… jobs generally don't pay anywhere NEAR what they pay where cost of living is what we're approaching. It's creeping up so unsure these days but generally that was the trade off: Miami (and somewhat Tampa/Orlando) excluded, you made a lot less and paid a lot less. That could be exploited depending on your profession and whether or not you were self-employed (chiro adjustments, for example cost about the same everywhere) and it can be exploited now- big opportunity for entrepreneurs, but I think inflation is outpacing wages here moreso than elsewhere. Just keep it in mind and plan accordingly.
