How does one stop the influence peddling while maintaining freedom? maybe every campaign needs to be taxpayer funded
Well, first you run on 'campaign finance reform' and get elected. Then, you cut the financial ties between the Parties and any candidate. The parties can raise their own funds to poll and create platforms and choose who will represent them. The budget $'s for all candidates to do their campaigning would be based on the registered voter population in the area they would serve. That money would be split amongst all candidates and be taxpayer funded.
and no politician in their right mind would actually create and/or vote to pass realistic workable campaign finance reform laws.
Including interesting link about it, though I don't believe it. Candidates have to be making money from the current system somehow.
