NEW YORK - Two of the prosecutors leading the Manhattan district attorney's investigation into former President Donald Trump's business practices have resigned.

A spokesperson for District Attorney Alvin Bragg confirmed the resignations of Carey Dunne and former mafia prosecutor Mark Pomerantz, both of whom started with the probe under the former district attorney, Cyrus Vance Jr.

"We are grateful for their service," said the spokesperson, Danielle Filson. She declined to comment further, saying the investigation is ongoing.

The New York Times, citing sources, reported that Dunne and Pomerantz quit after Bragg raised doubts about pursuing a case against Trump.

Last week, a judge ruled that Trump would have to answer questions under oath in an investigation into his business practices brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

The D.A.'s office investigation led to tax fraud charges last July against Trump's company, the Trump Organization, and its longtime finance chief, Allen Weisselberg.

Weisselberg was accused of collecting more than $1.7 million in off-the-books compensation, including apartment rent, car payments and school tuition. He and the company have pleaded not guilty.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s recent revelations about a letter former President Donald Trump left for President Joe Biden are tantalizing but leave people wanting more.

Psaki disclosed the information on Friday during an interview with Rob Lowe for his podcast, “Literally! With Rob Lowe.”

Psaki noted she was the person who first informed Biden that, according to tradition, the outgoing President left a letter for him.

“On my first day before I did my first briefing, I was in the Oval Office talking with him about the briefing and anything he wanted me to convey or what I expected or whatever. And I said, ‘You know, I think you’re going to be asked about the letter that the former president left you,’ and he said, ‘Oh, did he leave me a letter?'”

“And I was like, am I telling him he was left a letter? I don’t know, OK?” Psaki continued. “So I said, ‘I think so. I think, I think that’s what happened. So he kind of looked around for the letter and read the letter while I was sitting there, which was just kind of a remarkable moment.” ..

A Canadian reporter issued a chilling warning to the rest of the world at what he believes is happening in Canada.

Toronto Sun reporter Joe Warmington appeared on Fox News on Saturday and warned that his nation is engaged in a Civil War.

“Canada is a police state at this time,.. it’s like within a police state. There’s no rule of law, it’s now in the hands of …the Emergency Act, which is the War Measures Act…Just by donating $25 to the truckers’ convoy puts you as an enemy of the state. On Thursday, legislation upholding Trudeau’s declaration under the Emergencies Act was presented in Parliament, where Conservative and Bloc Québécois MPs voiced fierce opposition.

Two sets of forensic linguists have published two separate papers using two different techniques to conclude that Q appears to be two people: South African tech journalist Paul Furber, 55, and 4chan internet message board moderator and computer entrepreneur Ron Watkins, 34, according to the studies.

‘While relying on two completely different technologies, both stylometric [quantitative study of literary style] analyses could establish that QAnon’s early period on the 4chan forum, from October to December 2017, was likely the result of a collaboration between Paul Furber and Ron Watkins,’ according to Claude-Alain Roten, the CEO of OrphAnalytics.

Roten, who worked with Lionel Pousaz, a partner at OrphAnalytics, took the writings of several people identified as potential Q originators and analyzed writings they had authored then cross-referenced it using computer software with early QAnon posts.

‘Open your eyes. Many in our govt worship Satan,’ was the first post on October 2017 that launched the movement, according to The New York Times, which was given exclusive access to the linguistics studies.

When reached by the Times, Furber didn’t dispute that Q’s writing resembled his own, while Watkins, who is running for Congress in Arizona, told the NYT: ‘I am not Q.’

‘An accidental stylistic resemblance between Watkins and a still-to-be identified author seems quite unlikely,’ said Florian Cafiero, a visiting scholar at Columbia University who co-authored the study with Jean-Baptiste Camps from the French École des Chartes.

Roten and Pousaz concluded that Furber and Watkins worked together initially, but when the message board migrated to 8chan, Watkins took over. Watkins’ father reportedly owned the 8chan message board.

Furber told The New York Times that his writing may bare a resemblance to Q because he was so heavily influenced by the moderator’s style.

In a telephone interview with The Times from his home near Johannesburg, Furber didn’t dispute that Q’s writing resembled his own. Instead, he claimed that Q’s posts had influenced him so deeply that they altered his prose.

It ‘took over our lives, literally,’ Furber told the paper. ‘We all started talking like him.’

More bluntly, Watkins told The Times: ‘I am not Q.’ But he defended the messages behind the movement. ..

Thank goodness there is still a Constitution to prevent Democrats from taking over businesses from Trump-supporting business owners.

New Orleans mayor LaToya Cantrell was seen partying at an indoor ball just weeks after reinstating the indoor mask mandate in the city, making her the just latest Democrat to ignore COVID-19 protocols.

Videos from the mayor’s Mardi Gras Ball at Gallier Hall on Friday were shared online showing Cantrell singing karaoke maskless with two other women who also were not wearing masks. None of the event’s attendees were seen wearing masking in the videos, which were later taken down. But NOLA.com reported that some people did wear masks some of the time throughout the ball.

Patrons were required to show proof of vaccination to enter the venue.

Cantrell’s maskless event comes after she reinstated the city’s indoor mask mandate last month due to the rise in coronavirus cases caused by the omicron variant. The mandate for all indoor public settings will remain in effect through Mardi Gras Day on March 1. Masks may only be removed if an individual is actively eating or drinking. ..
