Gina Haspel is a member of the Board of Directors of BAE Systems, Inc., the U.S.-based subsidiary of BAE Systems plc.
Haspel previously was the first woman to serve as head of the CIA. She served for more than three decades as an intelligence officer, gaining experience in all corners of the globe. Haspel spent most of her career in the Clandestine Service, the undercover arm of the CIA. As director, she managed a global intelligence network to include collection, analysis, covert action, counterintelligence, and liaison relationships with foreign services. She served seven field tours for CIA and was chief of station in four of those postings.
In Washington, Haspel’s leadership positions included acting director and associate deputy director for operations in the Clandestine Service. She has been awarded the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal (2021), Distinguished Intelligence Medal (2021), Legion of Honor (France, 2020), Presidential Rank Award (2018) and the Donovan Award (2006, 2018).
Haspel also is a national security consultant at King and Spalding law firm.
