Lateky this is exactly what I’ve begun to wonder about Hitler. He could have just acted like he was “their guy” and then pulled a DJT or maybe he was always a good guy trying to protect and strengthen his country but when he was defeated the victors rewrote HISstory to make a bogeyman.
