Battle For Mariupol: Joint Forces To Trap Ukrainian Nazi Units (Videos)

In the afternoon of February 25, the main battle began in the city of Mariupol on the Sea of Azov. The mayor of Mariupol confirmed that fighting broke out in all directions. Russian tanks were recorded 15 kilometers from the city.

Joint forces of the DPR, LPR and Russia take their positions to trap Ukrainian forces, and clean the city from the units of the Ukrainian nationalist battalions that are deployed on the Donetsk-Mariupol frontlines.

Forces of the DPR are taking an active part in the offensive. The fighters of the People’s Republic have taken control over a number of villages on the defense lines of Ukrainian units near Volnovakha. They managed to break through a complex of fortifications established by the UAF in the area and advance up to 20 km.

“Our units are moving in the direction of Mariupol, bypassing Volnovakha, there are losses, but surprisingly insignificant, taking into account the expected opposition and the degree of fortification of the enemy. Today we managed to advance several kilometers, the resistance is weaker than yesterday.” – the DPR military official reported.

The 53rd UAF brigade which is one of the best equipped Ukrainian units deployed in the Donbass is trying to repel the joint forces in this area. The brigade consists of a lot of former residents of Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk.

Russian T-72B3 UBH and BMP-3 pass through the village of Priazovskoye in the direction of Berdyansk and Mariupol.

The assault infantry columns have arrived in Mariupol.

Ukraine Claims It Has Killed Nearly 3,000 Russian Troops

About 2,800 Russian soldiers have been killed in the first 36 hours of Russia’s invasion, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense claimed Friday.

Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar said Friday that Russian troops also lost some 500 armored vehicles, 10 aircraft, and seven helicopters.

If confirmed, it would mean that Russia has suffered more losses in fewer than 48 hours than the United States soldiers suffered during the 20-year-long invasion of Afghanistan.

Russia has not released any casualty figures. The United Nations reported 25 civilians had been killed and 102 wounded, figures that were likely to be a “significant under-estimate.”

None of the death or injury tolls could be independently verified.

A senior Pentagon official who spoke on background with reporters Friday said the United States could not confirm the number of Russian soldiers killed.

Pfizer and Moderna Investors Are Running for the Exits

Wall Street investors are dumping their Moderna and Pfizer stock faster than the world can drop the mandates. Moderna is down 70 percent from its high, while Pfizer is off 19 percent. Former Blackrock Executive and investment adviser Edward Dowd calls for Moderna to go to zero and Pfizer to end under ten dollars per share.

How is this possible given that Pfizer now enjoys record earnings per share and a market capitalization of some $270 billion, making it the 29th largest corporation globally? With nothing but profits in sight for the Pharmaceutical giant, what could be the problem?

After all, in December, a Forbes’ headline read, “The Vaccine Maker Can Dominate The Covid Market For Years to Come, Wells Fargo Predicts.” In addition to the enormously profitable mRNA vaccines, Pfizer is rolling out potent antivirals like Paxlovid, which could earn $22 billion in 2022.

Compared to the $81 billion in 2021 revenue, the earnings from the vaccines and the antivirals could top $102 billion for 2022, which is music to shareholders’ ears. However some are hearing shrieks, and these happen to be Wall Street’s finest, the smart money that beats the rest of the herd to the exits like clockwork.

These sophisticated investors make it their business to not go with the conventional wisdom but to do their own research, which often pays spectacular dividends.

Edward Dowd is one such investor. He saw the dot com bubble ready to burst and acted accordingly. But, unfortunately, other not-so-savvy investors later saw their dot com heavy portfolios collapse as the NASDAQ Composite Index lost 40% of its value in 2000.

Dowd, a graduate of Notre Dame University and former Portfolio Manager at Blackrock, grew his fund from $2 billion to $14 billion and commanded the respect of his investment community peers…

The Ruling Class Is A Far Greater Threat To Americans Than Russia Is

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine Thursday. He’d been fixing on it for a while. Most of the world knew it was coming.

By nightfall, their advanced forces had reached the capital city of Kyiv, and the situation looked dire. In the ensuing bloodshed, the internet was awash in hot takes. Not insignificant among them: That treason is amiss on the right, where our elites detect an insufficient support for the White House — and an insufficient hatred of Putin.

They’re shocked their bugles ring hollow in the ears of so many conservative and Christian Americans. Our lack of enthusiasm infuriates them to their core; they’re shaking with indignation.

So what’s the cause of this apparent treason? Why aren’t we charging? Why aren’t we all impressed with a government that’s afraid of racially profiling Chinese spies, or the carbon footprint of war in Europe? Why didn’t the Russians fear the diversity tweets of our NATO alliance, or our maternity flight suits and trans soldiers?

Why, they wonder, haven’t American conservatives flocked to their “racist” flag singing our “racist” National Anthem?

There’s no gentle way to say it, but the truth is that a lot of us hate our elites far more than we hate some foreign dictator. It’s a tough truth for the tough place our civilization is in — and surely, it’s a difficult truth for our ruling class to see amid the glare of their self-righteousness.

The Right To Rule

From Western Europe to West L.A., we know we’re governed by leaders in business, entertainment, and politics who hold scorn for our country, its history, its heroes, its people, and their religion.

They have the money and the power, too. They can freeze truckers’ bank accounts and mask children as young as three. They can order Australians into internment camps and host drag queen story hours. They can force vaccinations, close churches, arrest priests, bankrupt businesses, prosecute bakers, empty prisons, defund police, and sometimes even win votes.

One thing they can’t have, however, is the moral authority to rule a civilization they despise. They are the very thugs they claim to stand against; they have no legitimacy.

“But now is not the time for this squabbling,” we’re told. “Putin’s assault is an assault on the West!” But how can we take their call seriously, when they are the same leaders who ask if we can have schools named after Thomas Jefferson; the same who pine over what primitive tribes our land was “stolen” from?

Putin has no such qualms about his own civilization (and it’s one of the core reasons our elites hate him so). This week, he said Ukraine is Russia’s land, steeped in its religion, culture, and history, so Russia is taking it. Another hard truth is that amid a Western elite who has forgotten who we are, it’s easy to look abroad at our enemies and envy the confidence they have in their own civilizations. Why don’t our leaders have the same?

The very question infuriates them even further. How, they ask, can we not follow when they are the experts? The experts who told us “America was never that great,” or who questioned the American exceptionalism they now call on to defend the West?

Really: Who can follow a political left or establishment GOP calling us to defend Western civilization when just last week our culture’s triumphs were submitted as proof of our awful patriarchy? When they were apologized for?

Can we really take Ukraine’s inviolable border seriously, while defending our own is called racist?

Was General Milley Involved?… Biden Regime Shared Secret Info on Russian Build-Up on Ukrainian Border with Chi-Coms — Who Then Immediately Shared it with Putin

General Mark Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, made headlines back in September after the media reported on his secret calls to China. Milley told the CCP he would give them advance notice if the US was ever going to attack.

General Milley later defended his actions before the Senate Armed Services Committee.

It’s not clear why Milley was never arrested for his actions.

Fast forward to today. The Biden regime reportedly met with China over three months to present intelligence showing Russia’s troop buildup near Ukraine and to urge Beijing to help avert war. Chinese officials rebuffed the U.S. and shared the information with Moscow instead.

These people are idiots.

NATO Countries To Provide Weapons, Air Defense Systems To Ukraine: Stoltenberg

(Update 13:02pm ET): NATO Chief Stoltenberg said on Friday that NATO members would provide more weapons and air defense systems to Ukraine, according to the Wall Street Journal's Anthony DeRosa.

After some confusion, BILD journalist Julian Röpcke clarifies that Stoltenberg did not say NATO would be providing the weapons - rather, individual NATO members would do so on their own accord.

Meanwhile, Stoltenberg also said that cyberattacks on NATO members might be enough to trigger "Article 5," which considers an attack against one ally as an attack against all allies.

EU 'Moving Forward' On Russia SWIFT Shut-Out, But Former US Official Says 'Not Nuclear Option'

While some nations (UK, Poland, and Lithuania for example) are pushing hard for Russia to be shut out of SWIFT - the global electronic payment-messaging system - many others are anxious of executing the so-called 'nuclear option' for fear of the potential blowback.

“The EU isn’t on board with removing Russia from SWIFT for one thing because the EU isn’t on board with letting go of Russian energy,” said Erik Meyersson, a Stockholm-based senior economist covering the Eurozone at Svenska Handelsbanken AB.

The former president of the European Council, Donald Tusk, was unhappy that some nations - Germany, Italy, and Hungary (who just happen to get significant amounts of their energy supply from Russia) rejected the call for SWIFT shutout…

As a reminder, The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, or SWIFT, is the financial-messaging infrastructure that links the world’s banks. The Belgium-based system is run by its member banks and handles millions of daily payment instructions across more than 200 countries and territories and 11,000 financial institutions. Iran and North Korea are cut off from it.

Former WA Health bureaucrat David Leslie Mulligan jailed for corruption

A former WA Health bureaucrat has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for corruption.

Key points:

David Mulligan accepted flights and accommodation from a contractor

The contractor then submitted inflated invoices for Mulligan's approval

Mulligan must serve at least seven and a half months in prison

District Court Judge Fiona Vernon said David Leslie Mulligan's behaviour "strikes at the heart of the community's trust in public service and the government".

Addressing the 49-year-old as he wept in the dock, she said he must have been well aware what he was doing was "corrupt and wrong".

Mulligan had pleaded guilty to nine charges of acting corruptly to gain a benefit, and one of corruptly omitting to make a record.

Between 2013 and 2015, Mulligan accepted flights, accommodation and other perks from a contractor for trips interstate and overseas.

He was working for North Metro Health Service (NMHS) at the time.

The contractor presented inflated invoices to the NMHS and Mulligan approved them.

The total benefit was $16,775 and included flights to the eastern states, and one trip to The UK.

Work component on trips 'limited'

For most of the trips, he used his annual leave and sometimes lied about why he was taking it.

His lawyer argued that five of the trips featured a "work-related component" such as touring hospitals.

But Judge Vernon said that while this might have made him feel better about what he was doing, the work component was "limited".

Joy Behar Under Fire After Saying She's 'Scared' of What Ukraine Invasion Means for Her Italy Vacation

Joy Behar of “The View” was slammed for fretting over the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on her vacation plans even as Ukrainians were being slaughtered as they tried to defend their country.

During Thursday’s segment, the ABC show’s panelists were kicking around the impact of the invasion that began hours before they gathered in the studio to chat.

Co-host Sunny Hostin said she was concerned about those who would be harmed and displaced by the conflict.

“Estimates are 50,000 Ukrainians will be dead or wounded and that this is going to start a humanitarian crisis, a refugee crisis in Europe,” Hostin said. “We’re talking about 5 million people that are going to be displaced. I mean, it’s heartbreaking to hear what is going to happen.”

Behar, however, fretted over her plans for a summer trip to Italy, which is about 1,000 miles from Ukraine.

“Well, I’m scared of what’s going to happen in Western Europe, too. You know, you just, you plan a trip, you want to go there,” she said.

Behar continued, “I’ve wanted to go to Italy for four years. I haven’t been able to make it because of the pandemic — and now this, you know. It’s like, who’s going to, what’s going to happen there, too?”

That brought about a sarcastic response from Barstool Sports blogger Kevin Clancy.

“The true horror of the worldwide pandemic and Russia invading Ukraine? Joy Behar hasn’t been able to take her trip to Italy. Thoughts and Prayers for Joy. We hope she makes it through this tragedy,” he tweeted.

Others also shared their condemnations on Twitter.

Joy Behar is the perfect liberal Karen… she doesnt care about people getting killed in Ukraine, just that this might interrupt her trips to Italy.

— Tim Young (@TimRunsHisMouth) February 25, 2022

Joy Behar said she’s upset at Russia because now it’s going to be harder to go on vacation to Europe.

This is how out of touch our elites are.

— Christian Walker (@ChristianWalk1r) February 25, 2022

Did Putin even stop to think how his invasion would affect Joy Behar’s trip to Italy? https://t.co/957HDmgaF0

— Karol Markowicz (@karol) February 24, 2022

Later in the show, Hostin compared the mentality of Russian President Vladimir Putin to that of those involved in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incursion.

“There’s a parallel there to the insurrection,” she said.

“People thought that they could just take the election, and I think that’s why you see so many people on the right thinking that this is OK. This is the fall of our democracy in the world,” Hostin said.

One commentator noted that liberals bear a share of the blame for what is taking shape in Ukraine.

“Had the United States and its European allies not succumbed to hubris, wishful thinking, and liberal idealism and relied instead on realism’s core insights, the present crisis would not have occurred,” Stephen Walt wrote in an analysis for Foreign Policy.

“But until U.S. policymakers temper their liberal hubris and regain a fuller appreciation of realism’s uncomfortable but vital lessons, they are likely to stumble into similar crises in the future,” he wrote.

Putin Demands Ukrainians Disarm, Remove Leadership

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday called on the Ukrainian military to seize power in their country and overthrow President Volodymyr Zelensky, while the Kremlin said Putin is willing to send a delegation to Belarus to meet with Kyiv officials.

However, in a televised speech, Putin told the Ukrainian military that it would be “easier for us to make a deal with you” than with “this gang of drug addicts and neo-Nazis,” apparently referring to Ukraine’s government.

“I once again appeal to the military personnel of the armed forces of Ukraine: do not allow neo-Nazis and [Ukrainian nationalists] to use your children, wives, and elders as human shields,” he said. “Take power into your own hands, it will be easier for us to reach agreement.”

Putin’s comments came after Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow is willing to send a delegation to Minsk with Ukrainian officials to discuss a peace agreement. Earlier, Zelensky said Ukraine is not fearful “to talk about neutral status” before he made security guarantees.

The comments came as Russian tanks and troops appeared to have entered parts of Kyiv, the capital, on Friday amid heavy fighting with Ukraine’s military forces.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense wrote on social media that Russian troops were now in the Obolon district in northern Kyiv. It urged residents to manufacture “Molotov cocktails” to throw at Russian equipment.

“Horrific Russian rocket strikes on Kyiv. Last time our capital experienced anything like this was in 1941 when it was attacked by Nazi Germany,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba wrote on social media, calling on the rest of the world to “sever all ties” with Russia.

A senior U.S. Defense Department official told news outlets on Friday that Western intelligence believes Russia has faced more resistance than they had anticipated in Ukraine.

“We do assess that there is greater resistance by the Ukrainians than the Russians expected,” the official said, adding that the command and control of Kyiv’s military are still intact. “They are not moving on Kyiv as fast as what we believe they anticipated they would be able to do. That said, they continue to try to move on Kyiv.”

Russia, however, has not mobilized its full forces that are positioned around Ukraine, the official continued.

No NATO country, including the United States, has sent troops to Ukraine. President Joe Biden said in a speech on Thursday that he will not deploy American forces in Ukraine.

The move prompted Zelensky, in a late-night address, to say that he is frustrated with some European countries for not deploying their forces.

“When bombs fall on Kyiv, it happens in Europe, not just in Ukraine,” he remarked. “When missiles kill our people, they kill all Europeans.”

Around the same time, Zelensky said that he believes Russian forces were hunting him and his family, according to reports.

Chelsea Handler skis topless on 47th birthday

Chelsea Handler celebrated her birthday doing two things she loves: skiing and parading around topless.

The comedian shared a video to Instagram Friday of herself racing down a ski slope clad only in aqua panties while holding a drink. Attached to her helmet were the American and Canadian flags and a piece of material draped across her back that read “Koy,” a reference to her boyfriend, Jo Koy.

“47 💙 Doing all the things I love with the man I love,” she captioned the video.

Koy, 50, apparently also enjoys taking his shirt off, as he joined in on the fun on a snowmobile.

Handler seems to have fully recovered from a health scare that saw her cancel two dates of her Vaccinated and Horny Tour and landed her in hospital earlier this month.

She joked in a video from her bed at the time that she was “not pregnant,” but did not specify why she sought medical attention.

Handler, who previously dated TV executive Ted Harbert and hotelier Andre Balazs, has credited Koy with renewing her faith in men.

“Do you know how hot it is to have a man be turned on by my honesty, strength, and confidence?” she wrote on Instagram in November. “Someone who loves the fact that I’m not going to take anyone’s s–t and isn’t intimidated or emasculated by my fierceness? Jo has renewed my faith in men.”

The “Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea” author also reassured fans not to lose heart if they’re looking for someone special.

“For everyone who is still looking for their person, do not adjust who you are or make yourself smaller to find them,” she advised. “Be patient and never settle for anything less than you deserve. Your person is coming and sometimes—they’ve been standing in front of you the whole time.”

Cargill Ship Hit In Missile Attack In Ukraine Waters

Star Tribune reports a vessel chartered by Cargill Inc., a Minnesota-based agribusiness giant, was hit in a missile attack after leaving a deep-sea port on the outskirts of Odessa on Thursday.

"Right now, our priority is the safety of our people in the region. This is a rapidly evolving situation with a great deal of uncertainty," said April Nelson, a Cargill spokeswoman, in an e-mail. "We are currently gathering information and assessing potential impacts to Cargill and our customers."

Cargill said that the crew was safe, and the vessel was rerouted to Romania to undergo a damage report.

Cargill has a majority stake at a port in the Odessa port, exporting grains and oils worldwide. The company didn't name the vessel.

Since the attack on Thursday, Cargill implemented contingency plans as Russia invades Ukraine for the second day. Its plan is to concentrate on guaranteeing its global customers' food supplies.

Ukraine and Russia account for 25% of global trade in wheat and 20% of corn sales. With port and railway closures in Ukraine, Bloomberg Agriculture Spot Index has risen to record highs.

Biden Supreme Court Nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson and Paul Ryan Are Family

Supreme Court Justice nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson and former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, a Republican from Wisconsin, are related by marriage.

Biden tapped Jackson to replace Justice Stephen Breyer as an associate justice on the Supreme Court. The nomination will create a dramatic battle for her confirmation in a Senate that is Democrat by only one vote.

Ryan, who is a distant relative of Jackson, quickly praised Biden’s nomination to serve on the Supreme Court.

“Janna and I are incredibly happy for Ketanji and her entire family,” the Wisconsin Republican said.

Jackson and Ryan are connected by marriage; Jackson’s husband, Patrick Jackson, is the twin brother of Ryan’s brother-in-law William Jackson.

Although Ryan and Jackson may not agree on politics, Ryan has been a staunch supporter of Jackson’s legal career.

Ryan testified in 2012 on behalf of Jackson when she was nominated to serve on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. He offered his “unequivocal” endorsement of Jackson.

“Our politics may differ, but my praise for Ketanji’s intellect, for her character, for her integrity is unequivocal. She’s an amazing person, and I favorably recommend her consideration,” Jackson said at her December 2012 nomination hearing.

“We’re family, by marriage. Her brother and sister-in-law, who are my brother and sister-in-law, William and Dana Jackson, are here with us as well today,” he said at the time.

Ryan and Biden appear to be of the same mind about Jackson. Biden wrote on Friday, “I’m proud to announce that I am nominating Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve on the Supreme Court. Currently serving on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, she is one of our nation’s brightest legal minds and will be an exceptional Justice.”

Hillary Clinton: Putin Motivated to Invade Ukraine by Trump, January 6

Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in a Friday Atlantic op-ed blamed Russia’s assault on Ukraine on former President Donald Trump, tying Vladimir Putin’s ongoing invasion to the January 6 Capitol riot.

In an opinion piece that used the word “democracy” 47 times, Clinton claimed Putin, the “implacable enemy of democracy,” attacked Ukraine in part because “Republican leaders are abandoning core tenets of American democracy even as the stakes in the global contest between democracy and autocracy are clearer and higher than at any time since the end of the Cold War.”

It should be noted that Ukraine has struggled to enter NATO. According to Biden, Ukraine needs to reduce nationwide corruption to enter NATO. “The fact is they still have to clean up corruption,” Biden said in 2021.

“Trump has always had a personal attachment to Putin,” Clinton continued, “which we don’t need to belabor here, and a long-standing admiration for dictators and disdain for democracy—going all the way back to his admiration for the brutal Chinese crackdown in Tiananmen Square decades ago.”

Clinton highlighted Putin as a threat to “the promise of democracy — freedom, rule of law, human rights, self-determination” and proceeded to praise Democrat-allied Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) for “braving the ire of their party,” which she deemed was “determined to discredit or co-opt the idea of democracy.”

“Representatives Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois are braving the ire of their party to serve on the House committee investigating January 6,” she wrote about the non-partisan committee that was designed by Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to indiscriminately investigate Republicans who are outside the scope of the January 6 incident.

Clinton did not specify what, if any, direct impact the January 6 Capitol riot had on the eight-year-old war in Ukraine.

“We need a strong democracy in the United States to win the global argument with autocracy,” Clinton continued. “A strong democracy is also a precondition to mobilizing the resources necessary to deter aggression and compete economically and militarily.”

Clinton continued to praise Cheney and Kinzinger for not “going along with the Trump-led attack on American democratic institutions and legitimacy at precisely the time when we need to set an example for the world.”

“Sometimes it seems as if Liz Cheney is the only prominent Republican able to connect the dots between these domestic challenges and our international standing,” Clinton concluded.

Clinton’s op-ed comes as many in the establishment media are encouraging her to run in 2024. Two recent op-eds in the Wall Street Journal and CNN have suggested Clinton may be the best candidate to defeat the Republican nominee. At the same time, Clinton has been fundraising and ginning up interest at the New York State Democratic Convention.
