Viral footage of “Ukrainian fighter” debunked
Larisa Brown, a journalist from The Times, circulated footage of residents evacuating from Gorlovka and claimed she was posting a Ukrainian fighter’s emotional farewell with his family, that has since gone viral.
"These scenes will be played out all over Ukraine. Ukrainians over 60 also prefer to stay to defend their homeland," Brown tweeted on the clip posted by Gorlovka Mayor Ivan Prikhodko.
In fact, the footage shows a DPR father saying goodbye to his wife and daughter as they evacuated to Russia - the clip posted online on Feb 21.
