Zelensky calls for URGENT Ukraine EU membership decision
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky insists “the crucial time has come” as he pushes for an urgent decision on his country’s EU membership.
Zelensky said he had discussed “further effective assistance and heroic fight of the Ukrainians for their free future” with the president of the European Council, Charles Michel, who replied on Twitter that “Ukraine and its people are family. Further concrete support is on its way.”
Michel made no clear commitment to Zelensky’s specific request, however, despite Poland and Lithuania signing a declaration on Wednesday saying Ukraine should be granted EU membership.
