The counter factual is the unknown. What were the circumstances that ultimately led to this decision? We need to know more to really know who’s in the right. Your point about defending your homeland still stands. But, there could be a justification for Putin’s move that would give him the moral high ground, albeit in a moral cauldron, that we don’t know about. The thought of Russia being the good guy is not a pleasant thought to me though. I’m not sure what’s going to happen from here. We could wake up to WW3 tomorrow. Crazy times.

Yeah this part bothers me. I have a family member that does that all the time. It’s moves and countermoves, you’re not gonna make perfect decisions. Although you can game things out pretty thoroughly. But, some shit ppl assume is planned gets a little ridiculous. I’m sure some of my assumptions are off, so I have empathy. We are all gullible to different degrees, vulnerable because of our biases.
