My interpretation is this is likely a necessary splitting of relations for the prep of when all the DOJ stuff comes out showing how Trump was targeting by the DOJ. The narrative to come has to be one of an underdog Trump, not of him as the one pulling the strings. Certainly not with people intensely loyal to him, every fiber of everything is the opposite of that. Trump has always been the perpetual “outsider”. William Barr was as far away from that as possible given his long ties to Bush.
