What a hostile way of responding to a declaration of love.

I don't even believe in Jesus but i wouldn't say "fuck you" for someone telling me that a fictitious character loves me.

Hey dude Bugs Bunny loves you.

As atheist the praying part is the hardest for me to accept.

While i understand on psychological level how it affects us - I'm still not entirely convinced of the metaphysical properties.

My biggest fear is to do it and then realize i was let astray like i have been trying to avoid my whole life.

In my opinion religions (and by extension praying to "God") is another one of (((their))) tools of keeping us subserviant.

I really want to but no.

Ayahuasca is a personal goal of mine.

But i do believe there are more between heaven and earth than we know.

I just won't call it god.

Agreed. But as you put it:

>This is about the powers we don't know we have.

If I don't know i have them how can i utilize them and know it's not being manipulated by people trying to let me astray?

You misunderstood my point.

I'll try a different way:

If we, just for the sake of the argument, agree that prayer has an observable effect.

Then the next point becomes knowledge.

If nothing we know is actually true, wouldn't it be pretty easy to get me to pray for something that is in reality not for my own benefit, i have just been convinces it was?

Not refuting what you say but it sounds a bit like confirmation bias?

It's like reading my horoscope first thing in the morning.

Even if i don't believe in the horoscope (which i don't) my day will still be colored by what i read.
