If Putin wanted to be credible, he would need to publish proof that NATO was planning to attack him when Ukraine joined.

Putin says "NATO wants to destroy russia."
NATO says "Putin is a demented dictator who wants to go out with a bang"
I see no proof of either of those things, but it SEEMS like he is actually invading Ukraine, sending his troops there.
So there is some supporting EVIDENCE (different from proof) for NATOs claim. There is no evidence for Putins Claim other than
"yes, if Nato wanted to attack russia, it would kinda make sense to do it from Ukraine and having them join."
So if putin has some shit that can show people the evil plans of NATO, he could get some people on his side. But he's not even attempting to do that.
