The Real Russian Collusion: Founder of Anti-Trump Lincoln Project Accepted Russian Lobbying Gig

Those who throw the biggest stones often live in glass houses.

Case in point: The disgraced founder of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project accepted a contract to lobby for Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2019.

Politico reported in May of that year that John Weaver had accepted a $350,000 lobbying contract from Tenam Corp., a subsidiary of the Russian state-owned nuclear energy company Rosatom. Weaver was paid to undermine American sanctions against Russian energy.

Weaver filed paperwork registering himself as a foreign agent of the state-owned company in accordance with the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

The Lincoln Project co-founder admitted that Tenam was owned, directed and supervised by a foreign government in his FARA filing.

He soon was shamed into renouncing the lobbying contract, according to the Washington Examiner.

The move raised questions of rank hypocrisy — Weaver, an operative for former Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich during the 2016 presidential campaign, signed up as a lobbyist for Russia after criticizing Donald Trump and his presidential campaign for alleged Russian ties.

The Examiner noted that Weaver’s Tenam contract “turned heads due to his previous criticisms of Trump on a range of issues, including alleged coziness with Moscow,” from 2017 through 2019.

Putin lobbying isn’t Weaver’s only unsavory connection. He was forced out of the Lincoln Project last year after admitting to “inappropriate” behavior toward young men.

Several young men accused Weaver of sexual extortion and blackmail, using his lucrative position as a former consultant to Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain to exert power over his subordinates.

Weaver’s accusers came forward with stories that involved the married political consultant stringing them along with potential political job opportunities, The New York Times reported on Jan. 31, 2021. At least one accuser described Weaver demanding sex in a hotel meeting.

“His solicitations included sending messages to a 14-year-old, asking questions about his body while he was still in high school and then more pointed ones after he turned 18,” the Times reported.

Weaver tried to wriggle his way out of accountability in an apology for his sexual harassment, admitting to being gay.

In recent days, the Lincoln Project has framed itself as a pro-Ukrainian organization, all while fixating on Fox News, Tucker Carlson and Trump’s statements.

Is carbon dioxide — two pounds of which each of us exhales daily — a pollutant? And are catastrophes increasing as a result of higher concentrations of the gas? Physics — along with a few other branches of science — says no.

Nonetheless, in a landmark 2007 Supreme Court ruling, the EPA concluded that it has the authority to regulate greenhouse gases, setting off a cascade of regulatory actions that target fossil fuels as emitters of a dangerous gas and promoting “green” energy as the solution. This ruling has become known as the “Endangerment Finding” and it determined that carbon dioxide was a “pollutant” that was dangerously warming the atmosphere and oceans, leading to climate catastrophe.

Now, the current Supreme Court is set to review the 15-year-old finding Feb. 28. Never mind that, according to Clean Air Act co-author John Dingell, Congress never intended for EPA to regulate greenhouse gases.

Setting aside legalistic arguments as to whether Congress or the EPA has the authority to make such decisions, the science is clear: Increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will not lead to the catastrophic consequences that the global warming enthusiasts predict. In fact, a recent Louisiana judge dictated that the EPA needs to use realistic metrics when evaluating the costs or benefits of more CO2. Using a higher, real-world discount rate mandated by Congress reveals that the “social cost of carbon” from increasing carbon dioxide emissions is a net benefit to society. That is correct. More CO2 benefits society and the peoples of the Earth.

The Earth’s atmosphere has warmed about one degree Celsius since 1850, and CO2 has increased approximately 130 parts-per-million since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution to about 415 ppm today This combination of modest warming and a rise in atmospheric CO2 has provided a huge benefit to the Earth’s ecosystems and to humanity.

Contrary to predictions of ever-increasing catastrophes and harm to humanity, quite the opposite is occurring. By virtually every metric the planet’s ecosystems are improving and we are enjoying those benefits.

Deserts are shrinking, the bulk of the planet is enjoying re-forestation not de-forestation, vegetation is exploding across all ecological niches, natural disasters have been in a twenty-year decline, hurricanes are not increasing, the strongest tornadoes are in decline, and our air and water are cleaner today than in modern history. The majority of North American heat records were set 90 to 100 years ago. Where is the crisis? There is none.

That more carbon dioxide is fueling plant growth is accepted as fact by all parties in the climate debate (and yes, Virginia, there IS a debate). Modest warming is providing longer growing seasons in temperate climes, assisting in the cultivation and harvesting of more food. That increase in crop growth is turbocharged by the CO2 fertilization effect. With carbon dioxide increasing in recent decades, there have been significant improvements in crop harvests and an overall greening of Earth. Greenhouses add carbon dioxide to enhance production.

It is accepted by experts on both sides of the issue that carbon dioxide retains small amounts of solar radiation — heat — that otherwise would escape into outer space. Proponents of catastrophic man-made warming exaggerate this phenomenon, using unlikely and unsupportable high-end projections of the warming effect to achieve extreme heat scenarios of the future.

Whatever the cause of the temperature increases of the last 300 years, there is no need to fear carbon dioxide’s future greenhouse effect because the gas at the current concentration of approximately 400 parts per million has nearly reached its peak potency. Even if the gas were to double, the effect would be a mere one degree Celsius of warming— hardly an emergency.

A ruling by the Supreme Court to roll back the Endangerment Finding would simply be a ruling that “follows the science” and recognizes the important contributions that more CO2 is having on the planet’s health and to the human condition.

Ex-Tunisia PM can be charged with illicit enrichment, Court rules

A Tunisian Court decided to refer former Prime Minister, Elyes Fakhfakh, to the indictment chamber, due to illicit enrichment through the abuse of influence during his period, local media reports.

According to the report, the Tunisian Court stated that the investigation case, published by the economic and financial judicial branches against Fakhfakh, had ended with his being referred to the indictment department for the crimes of unlawful enrichment and corruption.

In October 2020, the economic and financial judicial branches decided to open an investigation into 3 files related to Fakhfakh.

Elyes Fakhfakh is a Tunisian politician. He served as the Minister of Tourism and, starting on 19 December 2012, as the Minister of Finance as well, under Prime Minister, Hamadi Jebali. He was also the Prime Minister of Tunisia from 27 February to 2 September, 2020.

On the other hand, the Court, last January, prosecuted 19 people including the Head of Ennahda movement, Rached Ghannouchi and former President, Moncef Marzouki, on charges of committing electoral violations.

The Babi Yar memorial rests on a mass grave containing 34,000 Jews who were slaughtered there in 1941 when the city was under Nazi occupation. The massacre was carried out by SS troops along with local collaborators.

Another 2 leading Israeli blockchain pioneers named as suspects in vast crypto scam

Yaron Shalem, ex-Singulariteam VP and former CFO of Celsius, and Saga founder Ido Sadeh Man among 10 suspects nabbed for aggravated fraud, money laundering, embezzlement

After a three-month court battle by The Times of Israel, together with Britain’s The Financial Times, and separately, the Haaretz newspaper, an Israeli judge has lifted a gag order on two more of ten suspects arrested on November 18 as part of an alleged crypto scam that defrauded victims worldwide of colossal sums of money. Their names are Yaron Shalem and Ido Sadeh Man.

Neither responded to a request for comment from The Times of Israel. Shalem was a vice president at the venture capital firm Singulariteam, and until recently the CFO of Celsius Network, a multibillion-dollar cryptocurrency lending platform. Sadeh Man is the founder of the Saga cryptocurrency company.

Lawyers for Shalem told the Financial Times he “acted in accordance with the law and strongly and utterly rejects any attempt to associate him with any act of fraud.” They added: “Our client is certain that at the end of the investigation, it will be found that he had committed no wrongdoing.”

Celsius Network has stressed that Shalem’s alleged offenses are unrelated to his period with the firm; it said he was suspended when Celsius learned that he was being investigated and is no longer employed by the firm.

The two men, whose names were barred by the courts from publication prior to Tuesday, are suspected along with the other eight of “carrying out investor fraud through a number of cryptocurrency enterprises” and pocketing tens of millions of shekels. The charges facing the ten include fraud, aggravated fraud, embezzlement, conspiracy to commit a crime, money laundering and tax violations.

The arrest of the 10 suspects on November 18, in a case that has been dubbed “The Big Game” by police investigators, was an unprecedented event as Israeli police have only rarely investigated large-scale digital fraud cases. Only two of the names were made public on the day of the arrest — those of Beitar Jerusalem owner Moshe Hogeg and former Singulariteam CEO Adi Sheleg — while the name of a third suspect, Avishai Ziv, was made public on February 10.

But after a three-month court battle, invoking the Open Court Principle that is a foundational Israeli law, judges in the case agreed to lift the gag order on Shalem and Sadeh Man. Five names still remain under gag order.

The ten arrested men are among the most well-known, and in some cases internationally lauded, Israeli pioneers of distributed ledger technology, more commonly known as blockchain technology. Hobnobbing with the global rich and famous, some have run companies whose dollar valuations run in the 8, 9 or 10 figures, and been consulted by leading international regulators and government ministers.

Human Rights Watch Charges Russia But Not America with War-Censorship

On February 28th, Human Rights Watch (HRW) headlined “With War, Censorship Reaches New Heights”, and reported only against this censorship as practiced in Russia, as-if it were not also being done in America. The only even mention of its being practiced in America was in the second — the subordinate — clause of their sentence “Roskomnadzor announced that it would partially restrict access to Facebook in Russia, in retaliation for Meta, Facebook’s parent company, blocking four Russian state media accounts.” In other words: only implicitly — not at all explicitly — did HRW so much as even acknowledge — in that thousand-word-long article — that Russia’s Government was acting in response to the (CIA-affiliated) U.S. company Meta’s “blocking four Russian state media accounts,” or to any of the many other U.S.-Government anti-Russia censorship operations. Furthermore, any keen reader of that lone sentence would also immediately recognize that for (the CIA-front firm) Meta to have been “blocking four Russian state media accounts” was more severe censorship than was for the Russian Government to have been “partially restrict[ing] access to Facebook in Russia” — in other words: Russia’s response was actually milder than was the censorship that it was responding to. However, any regular fool who would be reading HRW’s propaganda-piece would come away from it thinking that Russia is a dictatorship, and that America is not. (America certainly IS.)

Actually, the U.S. Government routinely does censor out the most of the important facts — eliminates such facts virtually altogether, from its media’s international ‘news’-reporting, as it did, for example, regarding “Saddam’s WMD” in preparation for the subsequent American invasion, conquest, and occupation of Iraq; and such as it did regarding America’s bloody coup, conquest, and continuing control over Ukraine, by means of the coup-operation that U.S. President Barack Obama started planning in 2011, and successfully carried-out during February 2014 in Kiev Ukraine — and which bloody coup all of America’s CIA-controlled ‘news’-media reported as-if it had been instead a “democratic revolution” there. HRW itself had been started in 1978, with backing from mainly American billionaires, and was founded by Robert L. Bernstein and Aryeh Neier in New York City. Its real mission was to condemn the Soviet Union’s violations of human rights, but when the Soviet Union dissolved and ended its communism in 1991, HRW continued on as being a propaganda-organization against Russia and countries that aren’t hostile to Russia. It became especially heavily financed by the virulently anti-Russian U.S. billionaire George Soros and by many other neoconservative Democratic Party financial backers and their ‘charitable’ foundations. Julian Assange’s article, “Google Is Not What It Seems” includes an extensive passage about HRW, working in 2011, helping Google, in conjunction with Hillary Clinton’s U.S. State Department, to prepare the overthrow and replacement of Ukraine’s democratically elected President, so as to put into place on Russia’s doorstep, a rabidly anti-Russian regime there, which would then be followed by that new Ukrainian regime’s ethnically cleansing its Donbass region, which had voted 90% for that President whom Obama had overthrown, so as to get rid of those voters, in order to enable Ukraine in the future to elect rabidly anti-Russian leaders, and thereby to be a ‘democratic’ country that hates Russians and that just happens to be under a 7-minute flight-time for U.S. missiles which would be launched from there to hit Moscow.

She was also listed on the WEF website in 2019, in their Global Young Leaders program which has also featured war-supporting globalists such as Justin Trudeau, Dan Crenshaw, Emmanuel Macron, and more.
