Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, mankind is corrupt by nature. It is always going to be an issue that must be fought and dealt with. God's grace is required in the restraint of sin in the hearts of men. One of the reasons the United States of America has been so successful is because it's Constitution takes into account the fallen nature of man and places checks and balances to help deal with it. We should all be praying that God restores strict adherence to the Constitution for all future generations.
