yes, that was me.

 

i went through the following exercise - which would be tough to show as 'proof' through pictures.

 

i drew four or five lines across several diagonals on the pattern, in photoshop (using shift, to ensure straight lines - all on a new layer) and then moved that layer around. the lines matched up with every single diagonal. it is clear that it is a flat pattern - any curve perceived by the viewer is an illusion, and for the size/shape of the area it seems clear that it cannot be physically there…added evidence (three breakouts) is the fading in the middle and on some edges.

 

it's like when cartoonists use a pattern for a shirt, and the shirt moves but the pattern does not. kek.
