People scrambling to save their careers… I am sure they have Roseanne's blessings, she probably only thought of herself as she made the comment, of what she could take on herself, later realizing she was compromising all these people working around her.
That's probably the only reason for the apologies and everything else, trying to save what could be saved for the colleagues' and friends' sake.
My interpretation so far, unless new developments will prove the story goes deeper than that.
Quit well knowing the show was going to be canceled a moment later. Now will be celebrated for simply having had the inside information and having acted off of it. Looking a bit like a scab to be fair.
