Kiev is all about leverage I believe. It’s too nasty for them to go in. They’ll just encircle and have great leverage for terms of them surrendering half of Ukraine.
Furthermore I think they want to just get in and grab a big chunk of land and be done with it. I really don’t see a prolonged war being their intention. The longer they are there the more time Ukraine allies have to make the case for intervention. I believe they’re going to take everything east of the river.
