Ukrainian Protesters Surround White House, Demand Biden Stop Russia From Attacking Their Country

Ukrainian protesters surrounded the White House demanding Joe Biden stop the war in Ukraine.

“We have a war in Ukraine and we want to stop that war. So we want to ask Biden to stop the war in Ukraine, support Ukraine, please,” a Ukrainian woman told White House Correspondent Dr. Matthew Harper. “Shelter our sky. That’s what we are asking for. The USA can do it. NATO can do it”

“Putin is not playing fair. He is killing peaceful civilians. He’s killing Ukrainian children. He’s killing Ukrainian mothers, Ukrainian men, women,” she continued. “He’s shooting down schools and orphanages and hospitals.”

Russia will launch an attack on Poland and Europe next, the protester warned.

“We are not going to be a last one. If we lose, there will be another country. Next is Poland, next is Europe. Stop dying people,” she said. “I am here because I am from Ukraine. I am an American citizen. My family is all in Ukraine right now.”

Afraid for their lives, civilians in Ukraine are sleeping underground, another demonstrator explained

“The whole of Ukraine sleeps underground wherever they can,” she said. “My sister with her two kids, boys, have been for the last four days hiding in bomb shelters, crying for their lives, scared to death – scared that they will die, and I’m scared for them that they will die. Only yesterday there were 16 children who were killed.

“Putin is not playing fair. He is killing peaceful civilians. He’s killing Ukrainian children. He’s killing Ukrainian mothers, Ukrainian men, women. He’s shooting down schools and orphanages and hospitals.”

Biden is to blame for the escalating conflict between Russia and Ukraine, a Ukrainian man argued.

“What we see from the White House is a combination of stupidity and cowardice,” he said.

Twitter suspends account for Just the News' Solomon for violating rule on 'misleading' COVID-19 info

Tweet links to JTN story about study showing Pfizer vaccine converts to DNA, which appears to contradict CDC findings

Twitter on Thursday suspended the account of Just the News CEO John Solomon for what the platform called "violating the policy on spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19."

The offending @JohnSolomonReports post was a link to a JTN story posted Thursday morning with the headline "Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine converts to DNA inside human liver cells, according to new study" and the url: https://t.co/q4PfQSa6TD.

The story is about a study by Swedish scientists that found when the Pfizer vaccine's mRNA enters human liver cells it triggers a number of reactions that yield a reverse transcription that turns the mRNA into spike DNA and notes the story was first reported by another news outlet.

The story also points out the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said the reverse transcription process would not happen, as also reported by at least one other news outlet.

White House Opposes Ban on Russian Oil Imports; Urges World to Reduce Reliance on Oil to Punish Vladimir Putin

President Joe Biden and his administration said Americans should reduce their consumption of oil and gas in order to keep prices down and ultimately punish Russian President Vladimir Putin.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki reacted to calls for the United States to stop importing oil from Russia in order to further punish Putin for escalating his invasion of Ukraine.

She said President Joe Biden and his administration were not interested in banning imports of oil from Russia, because reducing the supply would only increase prices and enrich the Russians.

“What this is all a reminder of in the president’s view is our need to reduce our reliance on oil,” Psaki said in a conversation with reporters at the daily briefing. “The Europeans need to do that. We need to do that.”

She tried to downplay the amount of oil imported by the U.S. by Russia, even though imports of crude oil to the U.S. have doubled from a year ago.

“It’s only about ten percent of what we’re importing,” Psaki said.

She said the White House is looking for actions that “maximizes the impact on president Putin” and “minimizes it on the American people.”

“We don’t have a strategic interest in reducing the global supply of energy,” she said.

There is growing support from Congress in a ban on oil imports from Russia.

Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), and Jon Tester (D-MT) announced legislation on Thursday that would ban Russian energy imports.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also endorsed the idea during her press conference on Thursday.

“I’m all for that — ban it,” she said. “Ban the oil coming from Russia.”

Republicans are using high oil prices to call for the production of more oil in the U.S.

Psaki mocked the idea of Biden allowing the Keystone XL pipeline to go forward.

“The Keystone pipeline has never been operational. It would take years for that to have any impact,” she said when asked about Republican calls to approve the pipeline.

“That is a proposed solution that has no relationship or would have no impact of what the problem is,” she added.

The pipeline was first rejected by former President Barack Obama in 2015, and despite former President Donald Trump’s effort to restore the project, Biden again banned it after taking office in 2021.

Psaki also blamed oil companies for not drilling enough on existing oil leases on federal land.

She indicated that Biden had more sanctions planned for wealthy Russian oligarchs in order to put more pressure on Putin.

“We want him to feel the squeeze, we want people around him to feel the squeeze,” she said.

‘You Will Repay Us Everything’: Zelensky Demands Russia Pay ‘Reparations’ for War

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued an address to the Russian people on Thursday, according to state media, in which he announced that Russia would pay “reparations” and rebuild “everything” the ongoing war has destroyed in Ukraine.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine in 2014, colonizing its Crimean Peninsula and supporting violent separatists in Donetsk and Luhansk, regions of eastern Ukraine. Last week, Putin announced that Russia would officially recognize Donetsk and Luhansk as sovereign states and that the pro-Russia separatists would receive recognition as sovereign governments. He then announced that those governments had requested Russian military assistance against Zelensky’s “Nazi” forces (Zelensky is the first Jewish president of Ukraine and a descendent of World War II veterans who fought Nazi Germany, as he has repeatedly responded to Russia’s allegations).

The tone of Zelensky’s speech on Thursday, as reported by the government news site Ukrinform, was significantly less conciliatory than his address to the Russian people last week shortly after Putin began a full-scale assault of Ukraine, in which he emphasized friendly relations between Ukrainian and Russian people and urged Russians to pressure Putin to stop the war. The shift in tone aligns with that of statements from Ukrainian outlets on Wednesday declaring that Russian soldiers would be “slaughtered like pigs” if they attempted to surrender. Ukrainian government social media outlets are actively encouraging civilians to make Molotov cocktails, build roadblocks, and otherwise participate in the war.

“We will restore every house, every street, every city. We tell Russia: learn the words ‘reparations’ and ‘contributions,'” Zelensky reportedly said. “You will repay us everything. Everything you did against our state, against every Ukrainian. In full. And we will not forget those who died. We. And God.”

“You came to destroy our cities, to destroy our people, to deprive us of everything. Everything that is so dear to us,” Zelensky accused, according to the translation by Ukrinform.

Zelensky went on to compare the Russian attack to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, calling Russia “another virus, another disease.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Zelensky insisted the Russian forces “would have no peace here” and urged soldiers to “go home.”

Zelensky offered no details regarding how he would achieve full Russian reparations for the destruction caused by the invasion. The Ukrainian government filed a case before the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Russian officials last week accusing the country of war crimes for alleged attacks on “kindergartens and orphanages.” The ICC has jurisdiction to host trials for individuals accused of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. It typically imprisons, with the help of Rome Statute member states, those found guilty, but it can in rare cases also issue fines.

In apparent anticipation of an international criminal case, members of the Zelensky administration and Ukrainian officials at other levels of government have flooded social media with images of alleged war crimes, particularly of evidence of alleged targeting of civilians.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba accused the Russian government on Thursday of “indiscriminate shelling of Ukrainian cities” and has shared images of structural damage he claims was caused by Russian bombs.
