Employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol discovered caches with weapons, ammunition and explosives near the settlements of Simferopol and Leninsky districts, the press service of the department reported on Friday.
"The caches were located near the settlements of the Simferopol and Leninsky regions of the Republic of Crimea and were carefully disguised with construction debris. Explosives experts seized two metal canisters with a charge of TNT checkers," the report says.
The total weight of the explosive was 20 kg. "In addition, a metal pipe was found in the cache, welded with a steel plate, stuffed with a charge of TNT checkers, with a total weight of 8.5 kg. The caches also contained eight regular electric detonators, two initiators and an anti-tank mine, with a total weight of 9.6 kg," - according to a press release.
The investigative department of the department on the fact of the discovery of means of destruction opened criminal cases on the grounds of crimes under Part 1 of Art. 222.1 and part 1 of Art. 223.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. "Currently, the department is carrying out activities to search for and identify persons involved in the creation of these caches," the press release says.
