I understand the basis of them but imagine where we would be now if Trump was not all over the place, abusing Crooked Clinton at every turn, using the media as a no-cost campaign contributor with his soaring rhetoric, and breaking all the rules of campaigning.
All of this drove massive turnout and enthusiasm which would likely be unobtainable in your structure.
The key is eliminating most of the money, maiking contirubtions limited only to those within the candidates representative area. For president, the only legitimate national office (Senate/HOR are state offices), strict accounting - real-time or near RT - for donations would be a start.
