Four Ukrainian Su-27 (NATO reporting name: Flanker-B) fighter jets, one Mil Mi-8 (NATO reporting name: Hip) helicopter, and a Turkish-made Bayraktar TB-2 drone were shot down in the area around Zhytomir on 5 March, the Russian Defence Ministry has stated.

Offensive in Ukraine resumes after ceasefire – Russia
The MoD says its decision to go on with its attack was down to Kiev’s “unwillingness” to “influence” the nationalists
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that offensive operations in Ukraine would resume from 18:00 Moscow time “due to the unwillingness of the Ukrainian side to influence the nationalists or extend the ceasefire.”
“Not a single civilian was able to leave Mariupol and Volnovakha along the humanitarian corridors. The nationalist battalions took advantage of the ceasefire to strengthen their positions,” the statement said.
At the request of the Ukrainian side, a ceasefire was called in the area around the cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha, with a complete halt in hostilities imposed to ensure the evacuation of the civilian population.
“Not a single civilian could get out along the designated humanitarian corridors. The population of these cities is held by Ukrainian nationalists as a ‘human shield’,” however, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Kiev’s Security Service Reportedly Kills Member of Ukrainian Team at Talks With Russia
The first round of talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials took place in Belarus on Monday against the backdrop of Moscow’s ongoing special operation in Ukraine aimed at demilitarising and “de-Nazifying” the country.
Ukrainian lawmaker Alexander Dubinsky has claimed that Denis Kireev, a member of Kiev’s first delegation at the Monday talks with Russia, was killed by the Security Service of Ukraine, also known as the SBU.
Dubinsky wrote on his Telegram channel on Saturday that the SBU killed Kireev during his arrest on suspicion of treason.
There has been no official confirmation of the information yet, but the Ukrainian media outlet Strana.ua has published a graphic photo allegedly showing the slain negotiator.
