Deletions & Bans on QR

On Feb 15, I sent this out to all BVs for QR -

Bans are for 3 to 7 days for spam, make sure to specify or else they are forever. [can be for less time but not more.]

On Mar 6, after a bread was accidentally deleted, sent another email out encouraging BVs to be careful about deleting spam to avoid future problems.

This morning, sent BVs a reminder of these policies. Along with this -

USE PERMABANS ONLY FOR ILLEGAL CONTENT - NEVER FOR SPAM OR "JUST BECAUSE".

It is CRITICAL that we have a consistent and conservative policy regarding BANS and that all of us follow it.

                          • -

It takes time to develop guidelines because it's first necessary to see what works and what doesn't. Work in progress.

  • Deletions can be useful for intensive spamming or for spam or other content reported by anons.

  • 'Bans are used for illegal content as a matter of 8kun policy. May also be used for persistent spamming but only for a limited time.

  • Ban appeals can be made here >>>/tech/1087072

>brief twitter links

If you have a thread, why post here?

As anon observed, it's a fire hose of information, no one can digest it. Best for diggers as a resource.

>What is twitter spam.

I think you know.

red text posts with only titles/links repeatedly posted. But if not, check poster's thread -

When baker says he doesn't have time to look, that's literal.

Bakers have about 15 seconds per post to check out anything (during the day) - impossible to check out LINKS without any other information being provided.

If you provide text along with the links, baker can evaluate the worth of the link. Otherwise, no.

Ukraine information is especially dicey - this is the worst disinformation campaign we've probably ever seen and the info is coming at us fast and furious.

Bakers do not want to notable info that cannot evaluate - same reason why many do not notable videos unless annotated.

Does that make sense?
